Wearable Modern Smokey Eye

Hm… hung vanngo says the opposite for this type of eyes, je moves the color way above the crease. Too subtle to be a smokey eye look, I would call it the ‚shy look‘.

Curious if you used a primer on your lids first, or if that's recommended with these shadows, particularly on more mature eyes.

The old version of this video is the reason I subscribed years ago. I’ve based all my eye looks on your technique and it works for powders, creams, etc. Love this new version too! And gotta get that new Caviar Stick as well. I ride or die with Cocoa (thanks to your recommendation 😉) but I’m curious about the reformulation.

Perfection. Thanks for sharing Shelby, you are absolutely correct that the trends teach us to put the color all the way up to the crease. That causes so much color to be in the crease and it does get out of hand quickly. I love enhancing the lash line so I love this look🖤

I'm still a cream shadow stick user, mostly 1 & done. My complexion is so fair (warm) that I can't use darker shadows on my very small eyes. I have more lid space proportionally. Thanks for this refresher look.

I just took a peek and cocoa and plum are gone. They have a dark navy and dark cocoa for deeper shades now.

Most beauty influencers tell us to "leave space" and lighten where you are putting the shadow and then put a darker color in the crease. I like your way better. First of all, as I age my hooded eyes are drooping at different rates, so finding the crease and making the eyes look even is a huge pain and takes forever. Ain't nobody got time for that, at least in this house! Secondly, I'm not trying to hide that I have hooded eyes. I'm tired of the suggestion that hooded eyes are somehow inferior and that I need to make them look less hooded.

Hi! Did you have any product on your lids before going in with the cream shadow stick? Foundation, powder, maybe both, or a skin tone eyeshadow?

Do you use a eye shadow primer with the Caviar sticks? I have mature oily lids, I have cobblestone and vanilla kiss, I'm having trouble with the cobblestone being patchy and not blending well when I kept trying to blend it it also disappeared in spots, geez! I'm new with Caviar sticks and want to love them! lol 🤣the matts are best for my mature eyes also.
