wd is such a W when cleaning shit
ОтветитьHey man I know you mainly focus on knife stuff but this focus on other things is just awesome. I really liked your video on Mechanix gloves. If possible, can we expect to see a video on Oakley M frames or Casio G-Shocks in the near future?
Ответитьthanks for the content!
ОтветитьAlways a risk to branch out in other content areas, but I’m so glad you have! This was a great one!
ОтветитьI have WD-40 electrical and I use it for my controllers joysticks because they always drift and when I put them on the drift went away, so thank you were teach me in the history of one of my favorite products
ОтветитьWD-40 is pretty dang amazing. The only thing it’s not great for is long term lubrication in hinges, etc. You want an actual oil or grease for that.
ОтветитьThis video better pop off
ОтветитьWorth noting it is a poor lubricant and should not be used as such. Cleaning and rust prevention it's great.
ОтветитьReally cool that NOT patenting something allows its formula to remain a secret!
ОтветитьI can smell the WD-40 just watching this video 🤣 WD-40 is LEGEND.
ОтветитьAlso hated by engineers everywhere
ОтветитьWD-40 is like duck tape, it works, but theres always a more specific product that does a better job.
ОтветитьLike my boss once said - you are not engineer if you cannot repair everything with wd40, electrical tape and zip ties.
ОтветитьThe old flammable WD40 was better. So, they have changed the formula. WD40.1 or WD41?
ОтветитьWorks great for cleaning and lubing skateboard bearings 🤙
ОтветитьAnd on top of all of it's great properties, the smell is amazing. I could almost use it for cologne, lol
ОтветитьIt's pretty good at cleaning internal components but other stuff like acetone and brake cleaner are better than wd 40 at cleaning surfaces either way wd 40 is a poor lubricant so it often has to be used in conjunction with something longer lasting
Ответитьa knife made of WD-40?!?
ОтветитьSuper interesting story, always happy to learn about the products that make our lives easier, that being said, < PB Blaster
ОтветитьLets see , I've got duct tape, vice grips, bailing wire and WD40. Now I can fix anything.
Ответитьgreat video. thank u sir
ОтветитьI prefer Ballistol over all other multi-use oils. Ballistol predates WD-40 and most others, if I remember correctly.
ОтветитьUnpatentabe easily analysed solution
ОтветитьMy father suffered from arthritis in his wrists and hands for years. One time when working in his shop, he sprayed some on and rubbed it in. He swore by the relief it gave him and continued using it for the rest of his life.
ОтветитьSubbed, good video, you’ve broken your algorithmic cage!
ОтветитьThanks, this inspired me to go buy a can
ОтветитьWhy do you insist on calling it W40?
ОтветитьWD-40 is not all that amazing. First of all it was designed by NACA to displace water on Dodge truck ignition systems during World War ii. And all they did was revamp the formula it is minimally effective at corrosion resistance. Which is all that is necessary on any kind of stainless steel. It is far more of a solvent then it is a lubricant. In the 1980s somebody got the bright idea to take the new stainless steel semi-autos and put WD-40 on them before they entered a shooting match. It became very apparent that doing that was a very dangerous proposition because some of the guns were locking up in mid cycle due to lack of lubrication. Believe me, WD-40 is a piss poor lubricant. If you're using it you have to continually apply it to make it stay a lubricant, like when you're spraying it on steel wool to remove rust from a panel. Can you put it on and leave it on it will turn into a gummy substance which will seal the metal but not long enough to be a long-term corrosion protectant. Especially if out in the weather. For longer than a few months and a few months is not a long-term test. WD-40 was not created in the 1950s it was created in the 1940s. During World War II. None of those failures of the atlas rocket had anything at all to do with the lack of WD-40 on it
ОтветитьI work at a realy fancy reserch facility. Guess what I use to keep my stuff from rusting!
Ответить"double D forty" a silicon based lubricant for well endowed women !
ОтветитьVery interesting video thanks! My take on it is that WD-40 isn't great at any one thing, but it's good for a lot of things.
ОтветитьSomeone needs to call Nicholas Cage and get him to make National Treasure 3: Can of Freedom.
"I'm going to steal the recipe for WD-40."
Im surprised by the lack of King of the Hill references so I'll go.
"I need a tap and dye and some WD-40"
Finger Ease guitar string lubricant replaced every need I ever had for WD-40.
Ответитьi rarely comment on here, but that was such a concise and to-the-point video essay. so much so that i wrote basically half of this script down in my smart guy notes on my phone; to further explain to people about WD. as a machinist, i use it a lot for protecting the machines but also for spraying down finished steel parts before they ship out. WD40 and AeroKroil are the bees knees. maybe do a deep dive on Kroil video! that stuff has got to have a similar backstory, its really hard to find. i promise im not a salesmen for them haha, but ive used that stuff a lot too and would love to know if its got a cool back story as well
ОтветитьI got a can in the garage that’s about 20 years old. It’s got some rust on the outside but it still works 😊
ОтветитьNow that's some damn 🔥 good 👍algorithm 🤖!!! Nice work, I even saved the video.
ОтветитьWd40 used to be a lot more flammable. Used hydrocarbons as a propellant instead of inert gas. We used to soak tennis balls in it and play flaming street hockey.
ОтветитьUsed to use CRC 565 but nowdays its basicly WD-40 for everything from DIY to mechanic shop.... Its difference is like night and day....
ОтветитьCleaning - Yes. Penetrating - Yes. Water displacing - I guess. Lubricating - No. Not at all. Not even a tiny bit. Just no, never.
Edit: It's basically diesel that smells better. Next time you don't have any WD just try some diesel.
WD40....70 years of helping America keep the shinney side up.
Formula known only by a few employees, and the company's chemical suppliers.
Bad gear voice, what are u doing here 😊
ОтветитьWD-40 and Duct Tape made America great.
ОтветитьThe thing is, these days there are much better lubes, cleaners, degreasers, etc. The truth is WD40 is not very good at any of those things.
ОтветитьMy brother used to rub sewing machine oil on his bicycle spokes, kept them shiny and corrosion free.
ОтветитьMy WD40 can is 20+ years old with rust on the can, i never use it, there are always better options.
ОтветитьWD-40 Cured my AIDS
ОтветитьTypical San Diego, CA W. Never thought that WD-40 was as local as it could get 😂
