Culture is not the righteousness of Christ… And it is an excuse for behavior that might not seem really bad but it’s pretty much inherently evil. Jesus even talked about traditions, which can be cultural, regional, but are really ingrained in families that create bonds. But Jesus wanted to break all that stuff up so people could get right with him. I sense, Lily, that you are revealing, and possibly wanting to repent, which you probably already did because you desire to follow Jesus and are not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We all have a history, we are all not perfect, we all fall short of the glory of God… All need repentance and forgiveness… And to encourage others to turn to Jesus and his way. It’s a big thing to look at the culture of a whole nation and say that that is normal for that nation… Just because everybody else does it makes it a culture? No ~it makes it a national sin, and each individual is accountable for their own need for repentance. I’ll look for the good report that Jesus has brought and made a difference in any nation, in any person and give God the glory. God bless you and your family.🪷💝💛💞💞💞

Yes. My partner & I have various nicknames for people, too. A Finnish neighbour we had was called ‘Chino’, so it was ‘Cappucino’, another friend of my partner was an ex taxi driver who still liked to drive people around so we call him ‘Uber’…..
