There is a big difference between Poor and Simple life.

'Looking poor' is really relative lol. I'm quite poor to Western standards, but I got mistaken for a homeless person when I was waiting in an apartment hall for a guy I was going to buy a vintage vase from. An old lady threatened to call the police on me. I don't know what it was, my blue dyed hair (which you need a bathroom for djeez) or my cool looking winter jacket, or my simple shoes .... It's really hard to hit the sweet spot between fashionably cool/young/vintage lover and rich enough to be able to wait in a hallway in peace. (I live in Brussels, the relationship between the rich and the poor seems to be quite tense here)

In Sweden they have the culture that explained in one word - "Lagom".

Don’t buy anything for a few months or a year.
I mean, don’t buy new clothes. Don’t go out to eat and don’t shop. Just use what you have and when you do finally buy a little something, you appreciate it so much more, plus just think of all the money that you saved. That type of happiness and joy and satisfaction lasts a long time.

All I know is I’d be a lot happier and less stressed if I had the means to pay off in full home equity debt and student loan debt. Nothing’s worse than being in retirement and only having the income for basic necessities, utilities and minimum required payments on loans. So no vacations, old crappy cars, no eating out, etc. It’s a hole we’ll never get out of until we die and our home is sold to pay off debt. Also no inheritance for our children.

Love how fashion channels want everyone to wear a suit every day. This guy wants everyone to dress down!

I use Nokia in 2025 and started to use it from summer 2024 in june when my mom phone broke's and I give it mine . What can I say , I feel mutch better with my Nokia because no more wasting time accumulating day by day scrolling . Also I look poor too even I have cash , doing this 99.99 % of the people from my life go away . What can I say , this man said the truth in his video and I do not know him or something . It's covered by the umbrella policy, gets driven a few times a year, and is still worth what you paid for it if you want to sell. It's not a Corolla with a daily depreciation, use costs, and additional insurance
