I recall one were the guy has to share his lagers out around the room but he still has enough left to give Samantha one! 🤔🤣
ОтветитьBril!. When ads were worth watching!. 😂
ОтветитьThat's Aussie humor? Doesn't take much to entertain them, I guess. Almost as bad as American beer commercials, which are aimed at Neanderthals.
ОтветитьAs a poor grad student in NYC in the early 90's, I determined that CBL had the best price to alcohol ratio along with Ballantine's XXX ale. CBL came in a 6-pack of cans while the Triple Cross came in 32-oz bottles. Haven't had either in 30 years!
ОтветитьBack in the punk/new wave days in Toronto, everybody drank Black Label. It was as if it matched all the black leather.
ОтветитьLove it. Wish I could find the old Fosters ads that were done Mad Max style.
ОтветитьOne of the best adverts of all times.
ОтветитьThe longest advert I've seen
ОтветитьCompare this to the crap we have on now and you want to weep
ОтветитьCarling isn't a British lager brand, the brewery was founded by Carling O'Keefe in Canada, today Carling lager is brewed in the UK under licence from Molson Coors in Canada.
ОтветитьI hope he buys the spider a beer.
ОтветитьTasteless piss water favourite of the patriot monument protecters ,lovers of free Gregg's dressage rolls and tree delicious vapes ( All you'll need is a brick) never had that Vile stuff never will I prefer better then muck
ОтветитьBrits taking the mick out of Aussies taking the mick out of Brits, the proper way to enjoy life and unity.
ОтветитьWhat a great commercial! 😀 Back in the days when even insurance companies had funny ads....remember NRMA's "Ostrich Insurance" ad? 😄
ОтветитьWas that the American Carlings Brewery? If so they made a great red alecalled Red Cap, and the quarts had no preservatives . Great stuff
ОтветитьGreat ad , piss beer
ОтветитьToday the pitch for the remake would probably go something along the lines of :- A bar full of drag queens and divergent sexuality types, while the backpacker would be a mixed-race transgender or queer person while the spider would be something to symbolise the 'evil' patriarchy.... God I miss really good adverts made by creative people with a sense of bloody humour on the telly!
ОтветитьI loved these adverts , where on earth did we go wrong with what is served up today
Ответить10 bob pom
ОтветитьYou have to admit, that was … brilliant 😂
ОтветитьCant believe they were all white men. Lol.
ОтветитьThat one always made me laugh; just did again.
ОтветитьClassic!
ОтветитьI've never thought ads were worth the vast amount of money that was wasted on them. If a product is good, then it'll sell, after all. But ads like this one were hilarious! 😂
ОтветитьNow that's a great advertisement 😂😂😂😂😂
Ответить4.1% for fuller flavour??!?! Yeah right for a cheaper tap price you mean!
ОтветитьThis ad shows all you need to know about Australians.
ОтветитьCastle Maine 4 x ads were good. I remember a man waking up next to his best friends girlfriend, then he plays his friends guitar, puts on his friends shirt etc. Then the girlfriend of his best friend offers him the last bottle of castle maine 4 x from the fridge, and he says no i can't do that to my mate.,yet he can sleep with his best friends girlfriend.
ОтветитьROTFL...
I wish I could download that for a friend who HATES spiders and does not drink.
Lousy 'beer' especially in plastic glasses.
ОтветитьCarling and Fosters, both bloody awfull drinks, can`t bring myself to call them beer. :))
Ответить"It's a Pommie lager" - originated in Canada to be precise !!!
ОтветитьReal adverts not like the crap ads we get now and not a ethnic in sight brilliant
ОтветитьAdverts the last 20 years in the UK are LOUD obnoxious shouty with shitty music in the background and LOUD
..zero subtlety,finesse,storyline.
Paddy power and go compare are small.examples.
The adverts were certainly a lot better than the beer. I wouldn't flush my toilet with Carling.
ОтветитьLol outback dunnies don't flush.
ОтветитьDid this even run in Australia, and if so, which States, because I don't remember it at all
ОтветитьIf they made adverts like that today, someone would complain, either animal rights or someone who identifies as a spider.
ОтветитьThe good old days with real Pommies and Aussies people in ADS. Now its woke shit.
ОтветитьAll those white people in one ad. I think its illegal now.
ОтветитьVery wise bringing his own beer to Oz!
ОтветитьI always said I bet they go down the pub every afternoon for a brain storming session in the 80s and 90s the very best of British humour in adverts back then 👍
ОтветитьI guess it’s designed to appeal to a British sense of humour and their stereotypical 80’s view of Australia. The toy spider was kinda lame and age hasn’t improved it unfortunately, but I’m sure it has nostalgic value for many.
ОтветитьAnd I always thought it was a South African beer?
ОтветитьAnd I always thought it was a South African beer?
ОтветитьIf they made advertisements like that today the world would be in a better place.
ОтветитьGreat advert. Carling . . .?
ОтветитьUsed to drink Carling, horrible stuff, moved to Australia 25 years ago, never seen it
