I don't believe that sculpture was in that box. That driver used one foot to kick that box like it was almost empty. The box had no weight to it at all.

Wait how much are these that you would spend hundreds on fumigation and so much time trying to repair it instead of just making a new one? It looks horrible after restoration. How are you so sure it's fully cleaned inside? Seems like a biohazard now with all the chemical treatments and possible eggs still inside. I really can't trust your judgement either after putting it in a vacuum bag after spraying foam. Wouldn't that decrease the penetration and pull the foam back out? How is that going to remove sufficient air from pockets inside wood where your compression is meaningless? Did you really think the core of a large block of wood is going to heat up over 100 degrees to kill off anything just by leaving it in the sun? You deal with materials and seem to not understand materials. I dunno this whole thing seremed dumb and I would be even more pissed at the client watching this.

Nice video, unfortunate about the termites tho. For the acrylic bear, I think it would have been nice to see the light a little more from the profile view. Did you consider a small chamfer to allow the light to outline it at all?

Should have sprayed or vinyl wrapped the Mr. Cool. The paint makes it look cheap.

So after fumigation you could have used vaccum,infusion to fill all internal,voids,with epoxy . ie put in vacuum and,have,A hose feeding resin inside , pulled by the vacuum . much better than surface coating . (chec,k out total of info)

What happens if you radiate the sculpture with some powerful gamma rays ??? I think that is a good way to sterilize your job .

as an artist i get being proud and attached to my work. but in this case i probably would've "dissected" this piece and cut it in many "plates" like in that nbc hannibal episode, just to see what the termites had done. and even that would've been made for a piece in itself

I had termites return and reinfest my wall again. I bought the expanding foam termite killer. Just like insulating foam but toxic to termites. They touch the foam, and they are contaminated. They bring home to the queen, and it wipes the nest.

Next timer you use wood, put in in the deep freeze for a few months before you use it, and in a bag with no oxygen..

Climb cut end grain first, then the lengths and finish with a forward cut. Or forward cut but with smaller cut increments. This also depend on the material and sharpness of the router bit.

That Delivery driver needs to sign with a Soccer League, a foot that powerful to move a sculpture like that is a game changer

First that bear was absolutely beautiful both before and after. I am impressed with your pursuit of those termites, that had to be just heartbreaking. I have a 3d cutting board that I made and set aside in my house for a few months, went back and looked at it and it is cracked along several seams. Not sure what the issue is, possibly moisture content, but haven't had the heart to attempt fixing it yet. Love your videos, your sculpture work is fire. Thank you for sharing and the catch, cook carve video sounds interesting to me, although since this video is already 5 months old, I feel like it has probably already happened. I'll keep watching.
