I feel so bad for little Mercedes 💔 my heart is broken. She suffered so much and nobody did anything to actually get her help or away from those monsters!!!!!! I have 4 little ones and I’m just crying thinking about how Mercedes was living in hell with them without any help!!!! They deserve life in prison and hopefully they never get to sleep just thinking about what they did!!!

I was recently released from bexar county and Katrina Mendoza was my neighbor in lockdown i had asked her what she was locked up for n she said i will tell u when i know u a little better in her mind she has done nothing wrong she kalls her boyfriend and is as happy as can be as if nothing happened

On the day this child died from abuse/neglect, nine other children died from abuse and hundreds more were left permanently disabled. In this country (USA), TEN children are killed by abuse EVERY DAY and hundreds more are left permanently disabled. If this case outrages you, then start stepping up and doing something about child abuse awareness. People donate 10x more $ to animal abuse prevention charities than child abuse prevention charities. That's just sick.

Its not surprising that this poor little girl never had a chance. There is only 2 competant people (a police officer, and special investigator) who spoke and they were only involved after Mercedes was dead. This could have been prevented. The relatives should have taken these children away from the mother or put in foster care. This Mother should not have had access to her children without Supervision.

Everyone’s talking about the attorney’s this sick man received! This looks like swift justice to me! He does not deserve to be represented appropriately! We are talking about an animal here!

The family knew something was happening to Mercedes, I would gladly go to jail for my granddaughter just so someone would listen and protect her. Now, she has suffered and died in the hands of these people and now everyone cares and wants justice. I hope the younger child is doing better and goes to a loving family who truly will protect her because her blood did not do it for the older sister

Jordyn is very smart, well spoken and has an impeccable memory. Remembering a lot of peoples names and places is remarkable for a 6 year old. I truly hope that her memory fades in regards to this incident and the abuse she has endured and witnessed, as she gets older and is replaced with happier more loving memories going forward.

What the heck is wrong with this defense attorney? Is she purposely trying to give the defendant grounds for an appeal for ineffective counsel? I’m curious to know if any defendant has been successful in an appeal for ineffective counsel after having her represent them. I know it’s not that easy and there is a certain criteria that needs to be met for ineffective counsel - I mean she is actively working and “representing” her client - but I would imagine that she comes close sometimes! Or is she just really that dense? I seriously wonder if this is the way she has always practiced and if so, I would imagine that she has annoyed, exhausted and ticked off many judges and the DA’s!!! She is annoying the crap out of me.

When she said her questioning would take at least an hour, she didn’t say that she would spend a whole hour on 1 question!! I don’t think I’ve ever been this frustrated with an attorney while watching a trial!

We would be slamming the prosecution for being so horrible except somehow, the defense managed to be much worse. I don't agree it's because the lady is elderly. She's just terrible. Her supervisor should put her on permanent desk duty. Even though this guy deserved whatever he got, a lawyer this horrendous is embarrassing to our system of fair trials.

That child brought back painful memories of mind, my mother allowed her boyfriend beat me and tried me to the bed naked, so I feel some mothers are weak and hateful to allow a low life hurt your child whom you’re supposed to love, I just don’t understand that.

Why wasn’t the cop or cops who didn’t see the child or didn’t come get put on the stand?
