Gracias.
I was 14 and it was the first time I went to the Opera. And the very first notes I heard were this overture. Now I am 75 and the souvenir is still living 💕
Immenso🤩
At present, the atmosphere of extreme nationalism is everywhere, and some neurotic egomaniacs are making the world more and more dangerous. Jean-Jacques Rousseau brought great turmoil to France through his eloquent speech. The ghost of Richard Wagner is the Jean-Jacques Rousseau of our time.
But he is more dangerous than Rousseau 150 years ago, because the language he speaks to us is beyond the power of words. He uses the most magnificent and magnificent musical language of mankind.
i played trombone in this in the Charlotte Youth symphony
Not Karajan, but WAGNER is the Genius!
Indescriptible!
GERMAN CIVIL WAR
General, Man is very useful.
He can fly and he can kill.
But he has one defect:
He can think.

Herbert von Karajan was of Greek (Karajánnis) and Slovenian (Kosmač) heritage. Watching his face I began to ask myself whether he were really German or Austrian. I think there may have been some Romany there, as well. 'Kara' is the Turkish word for "black" and 'jannis'/'yannis' is the common Greek name Γιάννης (John); Romani identify themselves as those of "the Black Blood" (kalo rat, in Romany). Such feeling!

I listen and I understand, I listen and I cry deeply moved, I listen and my spirit elevates.
The beautiful melodies of Wagner’s overtures will never be forgotten, they are destined to create awe and wonder in the hearts and souls of mankind forever. What a gift he left for us all , as long as there are ears to hear and appreciate! ❤
Ответитьdanke Schoen!
Ответитьwhy doesn't the conductor sit down and stop acting like a fruitcake, at this point, his job is done.
Wagner could have been a serial killer let alone a rabid antisemite & I’d forgive it all due to this piece alone
