3+ years later... we now know the pilot was disoriented, and he was not paying attention to his instruments. "IF" he had, he would have known he was not at level flight and this tragedy would have been avoided.

The sad part is not only that kobe and his daughter died but the fact that no one not one person survived 😢

The pilot made an ascension on the 2300 journey upward to stay above the fog to potentially get a clearer view of what was happening, until it made the fatal dissension of flying 5,000 feet towards ground level only to head 180mph into the side of the mountain even if the pilot seen the error in his miscalculation, there was nothing he, the control center or anyone on board could do too prevent that head on collision.

We all know that a helicopter is rarely fall down technically because the propellants would slow down it unless the helicopter was controlled for falling down.

It said it went up 2300 feet but then said it fell 5000 feet per minute

Look, I know this is old. But when the pilot climbed to get above the clouds, he did so in a very unsafe and dangerous manner. With little AirSpeed, the pilot went into a vertical climb. This maneuver is not even recommended for fixed-wing aircraft nevermind a helicopter
