An idea has popped into my head. What if Palpatine specifically assigned Krell to the 501st to give them some early experience hunting Jedi, knowing not only that they'd discover his treasonous behavior (that he presumably knew about) and try to arrest/execute him, but also that they'd be the right hand of Vader? Giving his enforcer the most experienced Jedi hunters of the Republic.

To me, Krell has to be one of the scummiest villains in Star Wars history.

The second we meet him he degrades his clones and uses their numerical codes instead of nick names like Rex or Cody, unlike someone like Palpatine who atleast for a while put on a façade of joy to conceal his treasonous plans.

He was cocky in the way he spoke, he knew how much power he had and abused it until he was caught, unlike someone like Maul or Grievous who let their weapons talk for them.

Seeing Krell kick ass against the clones makes me think that he would’ve survived order 66 if he was alive to see it.

Such a great arc. What a show.

Nothing hits harder than Krell referring to Dogma by his name rather than his number, when all throughout the arc, he’d referred to the clones as their numbers

In a few episodes, Krell quickly became my favourite antagonist of the series outside of Cad Bane.
When he says “I will not be undermined by creatures bred in some laboratory” it really sets him as unique among the series, demonstrating that the idea of cloning isn’t universally agreed upon and some are even militantly against it.

Could clones actually do that though? Don't they have chips preventing them from going against their jedai commanders even the likes of Krell?

i watched this on cartoon network when i was like 11 years old lol

This arc was a big step in Rex's character development. He's still a loyal soldier, but from then on, he puts his loyalty towards his brothers first, and learns to question his superiors. Very important lesson for his character and the subsequent story arcs, like Echo's rescue and Fives' inhibitor chip arc.

Among the most satisfying deaths in all fiction.

Clones tend to be underestimated, people tend to forget they're basically Starwars equivalent of ODST's and Commandos are basically Spartans

If krell didn’t have the vision then he probably would stay as a Jedi.
