SAS bazookas 6.5 were amazing
ОтветитьLove these videos, thanks
ОтветитьHere comes ALL the experts 😅
ОтветитьWhat software are you using for the box desin
ОтветитьFunny first vehicle you mentioned is 4 door pickup lol. I got 14 sierra, Im running Skar VD10.
Set up as downfire in my custom center console that also hosts my refrigerator. Overland vehicle under back seat used as storage.
I have a sundown 6.5 inch woofer that goes down 20 hz so it all depends on the speaker brand a crapy brand won't go down that low
ОтветитьMy boi "Silverado Ortiz" from Hanford had 8 10's with 4500 watts in his mini truck and that thing was booming.
Ответитьthere is only 6" of space under the back seat of my Tundra double cab :(
ОтветитьThere's a reason I have really expensive headphones. I don't think my roommates would appreciate any of this.
ОтветитьBeen trying to buy Savard and SAS ,but both seem outta business.
ОтветитьMost music doesn't actually go that low so you don't need a big subwoofer, also there's the fact that many people dislike the additional noise of the car rattling along the sub.
Sure if you want to have a rattlebox that turns heads wherever you go then sure big subs are ideal, but if you actually want to improve the sound quality smaller subs should work well.
I have a Speaker Enclosure Patent and would possibly make for some interesting content and give my New design more exposure. Also can let me know the pros and cons of a spherical type design.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Small subwoofers are for small rooms. SIMPLE? Yes damn simple, so why talk more... I cant imagine 12" sub in my apartment. 8" is more than enough.
ОтветитьI love this. Thank you!
Ответитьspeakers have their efficiency dramatically drop below their resonant frequency, so FS is in fact indicative of how low your speaker can play
ОтветитьWhen you add the acoustics of cars and trucks, you're a already compromising everything. Home acoustics are all that really matters and what you listen to going to the grocery store really means almost nothing. That there will be a compromise goes without saying.
ОтветитьI'm a bass player. Multiple, 4 to 8 10" drivers are considered ideal because it allows low bass frequencies with tight bass and they can handle a lot more power than 2 15". The lowest bass frequency of a standard tuned 5 or 6 string instrument is 32 HZ. The small interior space of a car or truck allows good bass response from small speakers because pushing a lot of air isn't necessary. The same speaker in a room would sound pretty bass shy.
ОтветитьThis makes me miss my JL Audio 2x 12W6 setup.
ОтветитьGreat video bro
Ответить57 fs!!!
That aint a subwoofer thats a woofer
But almost midtone driver
I have KIA picanto 2013, where to put it and how big the box should be pls?
Planning on 8' or 10' subs.
The real problem, trying to explain the problem with what you’re trying to explain is it’s more complex than that. You can also like you said add more power to the speakers having stiff suspension does raise the FS.. but if you have enough total volume, you can overcome a lot of these problems.meaning go full retard on your small setup. I have 3 hippo xl 6.4 subs is a small box I’ve taken the box apart three different times to get the tuning just right and now it hits Lowe’s like an hi power 18
ОтветитьYour videos have come a long way. There's alot of great info in this one. Very helpful to newcomers and people who have been doing this for years and always guess at things. Now they can understand insted of guessing. 😎👍👍
ОтветитьTried Hertz MPS250 10' in my polo, cause had only 14L of space in the spare wheel (made a circular custom box in it). I gotta say I love it very much. Some pieces in the car rattle when it plays full tilt with 500w amp. It is not going very low tho, I think 35hz tops.
ОтветитьWhen i played bass, i used a 2x10" and a 1x15". Gave plenty of sound to keep up with the blaring guitarists and i didnt lose anything on the far low end.
ОтветитьWell? If you run sixteen 6.5" subs wired in series parallel on each side, you're probably gonna have more magnet & power and moving mass responding Quicker than an 18" subwoofer. AND That would quadruple efficiently efficiency. Home & car audio doesn't seem to pay enough attention to the Benefits of high efficiency if you ask me. I run band speakers in my house.
ОтветитьHad 4 6.5inch DDs, sounded incredible - played all the way down to 20hz and was musical at the same time. Multiple small subs in a quality box is a great option for anyone wanting to retain space and have an awesome system
ОтветитьMy 30 years of building enclosures has shown me that more motor force per square inch and FAR better cooling makes it easy for quads to beat a single in the same available airspace! Diffraction imaging and power compression are the problems of larger drivers.
ОтветитьDude basiclly said small woofers sucks in a nice way.
ОтветитьOne of the equalizing factors a small sub has has to do with acoustic coupling. In a standard sealed or reflex application the coupling efficiency isn't all that high. If you horn loaded a cabinet or use a column of air to dampen the speaker at a specific set of frequencies you can help to make up for the smaller size of the driver. Of course this is in theory. To do it correctly requires a lot more work than using them in a sealed/vented system. Truthfully though, the same applies from larger drivers too. I made some custom tuned systems for a friend that used two 4" woofers to generate more bass than a single 12" system. With proper tuning along with using factors such as the internal resonant effects of the vehicle cab, you can achieve some great results with small drivers.
ОтветитьAwesome! 🎉
ОтветитьI watched a video a few hours ago that showed that 3 6.5 inch woofers played significantly louder and lower than 2 12's of the same model from the same brand. Somethimg to consider. Both boxes ported.
Ответитьwish I could just hear you talking without all the noise/music in the background and distracting sound effect pop ups
ОтветитьHey have yall heard of ZSTAT woofers? Are they any good?
ОтветитьSavard have been building quality subs for years.
ОтветитьI really just want a good old hifi system with 12” woofers
Ответить8x8s for the win
ОтветитьI got into 6.5” woofers because it’s a much cheaper way to test out speaker box designs.
Mostly on fiberglass designs
With high power handling, high excursion, heavier moving mass, stiff suspension, etc, the same subwoofer in 15", 12", 10", 8" will usually have similar if not the exact same coil and power handling but less moving mass per motor, less mass with the same power allows better response and control of the cone, more accurate reproduction while achieving the high SPL
ОтветитьThere no replacement for displacement i run 2 15s and have had 4 but two is always preferred
ОтветитьThats why you take the back seats out of a truck and build a custom ported box for two 15s or two 18s
ОтветитьI put one or 2 12s in everything i had for years, finally tried a single high power 10 in a well built box and i was blown away with how tight accurate and loud the bass was.
ОтветитьI'm glad that I have a Tahoe. Plenty of space for a couple 10's.
ОтветитьHad extended cab S10 back in the day.. entire extended cab was a sealed box with 4 -12” Pioneer subs.. 700 watt Pioneer amp and Pioneer head unit. Don’t know what I got right on that setup, but it hit SO hard, you could visibly see the cab flex.
ОтветитьHave you ever tried a combination of a T-line box and a port box? I've found it to be great for sub-boxes where you're pushing the air volume size larger than the recommended size to get lower Hz output without having to make the port length longer than the box is.
ОтветитьI had some Alphasonik eights about a decade ago, perfect for that extended cab frontier, i also had a fifteen from them, took up all my space, it hit, but it was overkill.
I like how a single ten fills a small cab for sound quality, two tens hit harder but take up more space.
Two eights is just right for a daily driver.
ill take 8 10s over 4 12s any day
ОтветитьJust ordered these savard 6.5 rap woofers. Excited to see what they can do🫣😳😄
ОтветитьI think it really depends on the vehicle and person imo.
