H2o, Mako and mermaid adventures are me andy my sisters comfort tv show were suckered for mermaids and anytime I put it on the TV they came running also can I recommend a show called Wolfblood Disney used to air the TV show around Halloween during their monstober special but stopped airing due to it getting to mature Netflix used to air it to but lost its licensing
ОтветитьI watched the show as a kid and I loved it. Never noticed any of that stuff because I was way too young to think about all that xD Never watched Mako Mermaids tho and I guess my first question would be how the fck did they never see any other mermaids during the whole H2O show?
Ответитьthe whole thing about h2o just add water with the specific powers vs mako mermaids getting a bunch of unique powers you have to practice/"level up" in a way- kinda was really bothering me. I loved both but i wish they could have been consistent or at least explain why it was like that. or even have another season of the original having the girls realize there was more powers they could have used
Ответитьcharlotte probably had mermaid blood as well since her grandmother was a mermaid. could have played a part in her having more powers.
ОтветитьMost confusion comes from Mako Mermaids but I refuse to acknowledge its existence... It's just H2O for me
ОтветитьI understand having to suspend belief but I have literally never understood how when they turn into mermaids and they have their phone/ bag etc. on their person it just disappears and reappears when they’re dry— like?? That’s the real magic.
Ответитьapparently, after season 1 of mako mermaids, nixie and lyla left to search for a new home as the actresses who played them left the show
ОтветитьI've always wondered if the families ever found out, especially Emma's. Since the cover story for her leaving was traveling around the world.
ОтветитьI grew up watching h2o but have never seen mako mermaids or the anamation. Now im kind of glad😂.
Ответитьi never realised why cleo, who was able to move around liquid, wasnt able to move it away from herself when it splashes her??😊
Ответитьi never realised why cleo, who was able to move around liquid, wasnt able to move it away from herself when it splashes her??
ОтветитьTears are wet so why don't the turn when they cry
ОтветитьMako mermaids in live action there’s nothing wrong with it I just thought the episodes some of them fell really complex and like because they made it so complex by the time was the end like the solution happened like two seconds before the crowds roll and I’m like what there’s gotta be more there’s gotta be a party right nope versus the animated series each episode is like a standalone story and I really like that the live action one it is not really focus on like them outside of them being a mermaid I know there are some episodes like that but like the animation series it really does show I’ve heard the mermaids interact with like their parents take a think it’s Emma‘s parents at least her dad anyway that like he goes like this boat trip and like that makes her like worry about him MLA creator power to create like his giant bubble whenever she’s asleep Versus the weather actually is more focused on like them like explain up island and I like that but like I wish we got to see more of their powers
Ответитьthe Eric thing bothers me a lot. does he have any parents on Earth? how was he raised? at what point did he start getting his tail? how does he know all those things about mermaids and mermen? how many mermen are there that live on land, do they have tails, how are they raised, do they know that there are others like them? aren’t governments suspicious about all the baby boys of unknown origins just appearing at the beaches?
also, Rita said that only Zac’s mother was powerful enough to cast a spell that would make a merman human. what do regular mermaids do when they have male babies? do they just grant them legs without taking the tails away? but then whoever finds the baby will find out the truth in no time.
also, was there not a single mermaid who decided to keep her newborn baby rather than send it away? she would have to keep it secret or maybe the pod would force her to leave, but was there not a single mermaid in centuries who would still do it? aren’t mothers supposed to love their children?
I don't really consider Mako canon because of all the things it contradicts, changes, or ignores from the original series. Even Rikki's reappearance doesn't help. And I wanted to like Mermaid Adventures but with the cheap animation, dialogue that always sounds like it's being rushed, childish storylines that half the time seem to just be retellings of the original episodes, it's nothing more than a guilty pleasure. I do like that the mermaids could talk underwater though; it just makes sense for a cartoon to do things that you couldn't do with live action.
ОтветитьAh, there is also now another series called burrow of magical things that takes place in the same universe and mentions mermaids.
ОтветитьI never understood the plot of Maki Mermaids
ОтветитьIt feels like it would make more sense if they changed into mermaids through being engulfed in water entirely (or covered in it head to toe). That would make more sense than just touching water.
ОтветитьMako Mermaids is a loose spinoff series so not much of it is tied to the original. Also regarding season 3 H2O Cast changes, H2O was only supposed to run for two seasons. The cast members only signed for two so Claire Holt had already booked her role in Messengers as did Angus McLaren only being available for half of season 3 due to booking All Saints/Packed to the Rafters. Due to its popularity they finally did season 3, however it was released two years after season 2. Thats why A LOT of their 'families' and other cast members are missing.
ОтветитьI’m with you on the cast swapping for Mako Mermaids. I didn’t get it
ОтветитьOf all the things, the reproduction thing is such a weird thing to get hung up on lmao. They're mermaids and it's not real lol, it would never make sense. Tbh, the way it's portrayed in the show is honestly closer to real world mythology. Mermen just aren't a thing in folklore for the most part. Typically mermaids interacted with humans or kept to themselves
ОтветитьIn Season 2 episode 4 Erik did say to Ondina "How could I sell out the cutest mermaid I've ever seen". This implies that he has seen mermaids before Ondina so...
Ответитьi didn't really like mako mermaids i think just add water was better
ОтветитьI don't think Mako mermaids is canon
ОтветитьI still love H2o just add water and mako mermaids even still as an adult 🤩🧜🏾♀️
I guess I'm a little bit obsessed with mermaids 🧜🏾♀️ 😅
When h2o was written mako mermaid pod didn't exist yet in their mind. It mean the story was built after to add to the original
ОтветитьI loveee h20 and ive watched mako mermaids a few times but what always kinda annoyed me was the merman chamber like where did that even come from cus it was never there in h2o or mentioned at all the whole merman wasnt even a thing in h2o
Ответитьi like to think the magic doesnt work with bodily fluids. cuz, like, arent we touching water all the time? we have it in our mouths. they would never be able to cough, or cry.
ОтветитьThe cartoon was stupid asf lol
ОтветитьI feel like Emma was never actually suppose to become a mermaid because 1st of all cleo and rikki were the ones on the boat heading to mako and cleo was the one who invited Emma and again when she swam out the full moon started after she left but then she came back in and got mermaid powers and in season 3 she wasn't even there she was replaced with bella who has similar powers to emma and was already 1 of the chosen mermaids those 3 are they ones who stopped the comet and saved the world so i feel fate was against emma becoming a mermaid
ОтветитьOkay hear me out here when me and two of my friends were younger we watched the cartoon of h2o and loved it like loved it and we looked at the of h2o and mako merimads and hated it we did not like the way the tails looked and did not like live action at the time them when we got older we came back to the live action ones and we were like omg this is so good and watched all of it then looked at the cartoon we like loved before and was like what the hell am I watching this is so bad and we wonder what the heck was going on in are little young minds for thinking the cartoon was good Srry if u like the cartoon but I just don’t
ОтветитьOh not to long ago I saw this movie called night teeth and in the beginning credits is saw the name lucy fry and was like why is that farmilar then I saw who she was playing and I freaked out I was like o my god it’s lucy fry it is lyla from mako mermaids like gurl when from being a sweet little merimaid to being a freking badass vampire
ОтветитьI think whaty people don;t understand that it's just a show, so things like in real life that don't make sense aren;t show in the film. I do see that Mako Mermaids and h20 are similar but I think they are both different shows entierely and shouldnt be looked at together because obivously different things are shown in both so its just normal.
Ответитьi like to think mako mermaids was just a dream.
Ответитьi always wondered what happened to the lockets in season 3. did they give them back to miss chatham? they swap them for crystals and aren't mentioned again.
ОтветитьMimi and Cleo could have been sisters. They look so much alike in a way
Also the one thing that irks me is why is it Bella only has 1 power while Charlotte had 3? They were both alone when they turned into mermaids yet only 1 of them has more than one power while the other only had 1
I believe the sweat don’t transform they into mermaids because its not water itself, otherwise they wouldnt be able to pee or cry, and we see cleo crying when lewis is about to leave.
ОтветитьThe real question is How Rikki, Emma, Cleo and Bella, didn’t know that mermaids was around mako
Ответитьthe cool thing about the netflix show is, that they used the original german VAs for the german version! so it felt way more natural to watch
ОтветитьIvy Latimer, left the program and changed sex, now he is transsexual, a man and that's why they had to change actress.
ОтветитьMany people like h2o more than mako mermaids, but I find it more interesting both story wise and visually
ОтветитьPersonally I think h20 is a whole lot better , I feel like it’s more relatable and even tho the concept of being mermaids isn’t real their life situations can be , like how Rikki was insecure abt where she lived and Cleo’s parents splitting up , where as mako is whole based on the fact of mermaid magic and things where as in h20 it’s just how they deal with it
ОтветитьHow dare you I love the animated series just as much as the other shows
Ответитьas an irish girl in ireland at age 8 when i heard bella say she found the moon pool and turned into the mermaid i was looking for it everywhere when i went to the beach then got into trouble for going too far away
ОтветитьAngus McLaren aka Lewis left halfway through S3 was due to him being in another popular Australian drama tv series Packed to the Rafters which was on S2 at the time & he was also the sequel series Back to the Rafters years later, as for Craig Horner who was Ash in H2O S2, well he was doing Legend of the Seeker based on a book series however it was very loosely at the books plus maybe Blue Water High had something to do with it as well.
ОтветитьUpdate! Raika Longfeather in my comments brought up something I messed up on! The tailless spell is only used by Northern mermaids which means that Erik became human by using a legs spell. Which honestly I still think is kind dumb because how would they have prevented a lot of humans from finding out about mermaids?
