Bit too much editing going on here... Honestlty, give me a video like this done in mostly single take (so I can see how the setup etc goes, and the time it all takes), something showing inlay work (again in real time) and I'm in! But at 3500 euros I'm worried by the 'slickness' of the videos... looks too much like marketing hype. Really hope it is as good as you make it look though... perfect solution for the small workshop!
ОтветитьWhen's that workstation coming out????
ОтветитьI love the idea of just having a perfect workstation. I'm curious what the precise benefits are over the DIY versions though. Accuracy, stability, does it store better, etc?
ОтветитьMuch as I really love this thing, I'm just curious to know what happens when you run out of shapertape or it becomes unobtanium ??? Pretty much makes the whole machine about as useful as an ashtray on a motor bike :-) Is self-printing shapertape an option ??
ОтветитьThis is pretty incredible!
ОтветитьWTF
ОтветитьSo excited for this!! I was about to finally build the advanced vertical workstation but i felt both it and the original looked insecure and like tape would eventually rub off. Smart design having the sliding support bar.
ОтветитьAwesome! Thank you!
ОтветитьNow we’re talkin’. Great video! We need more examples of these advanced techniques the Shaper makes possible.
ОтветитьIs Workstation the entire table/legs etc? Or only the corner attached Shaper branded piece?
ОтветитьOnce again brilliant!!! Can't wait to get mine!
Ответитьgrossartig andreas! tolles video👍
ОтветитьI'll take 150 open top boxes like that..... 4"X 8 X 3" ! Seriously, most awesome development in putting the capability of large, stationary equipment into a on-the-work-piece or on-site work environment. I have never seen a double dovetail.... that is purty! As a locksmith, I need the ability for the tool to work around right angles, for mortise lock and trim preparations, so I can make complicated preps on a door as a single setup, and not 3 separate ones. I called about it, but company declined to discuss such things.
ОтветитьRemove the steppers, and the need for advanced motion systems. Charge more money, and call it state of the art.
ОтветитьIn the opening scene, what's the work bench the workstation is attached to? It looks real nice too.
Ответитьamazing...
ОтветитьWhere can I get the plans for the box?
Ответитьwow thats impressive
ОтветитьDid anyone else notice the Festool Hand sander product placement? Funny that!
ОтветитьMuss bei der Einstellung für die Zinken in der Origin irgendwo angegeben werden, dass Schwalbenschwanz gefräst werden soll oder was ist noch zu beachten?
ОтветитьAlways interesting, but I do find it curious that you chose a project that Leigh and Incra have been using for at LEAST 30 years (banded dovetails) to demonstrate their products. Their much less expensive products. The ones that use a regular router or router table. I'm sure this thing can probably do stuff that their products can't? It might be good to do THOSE things, as opposed to demonstrating parity at 3x to 5x the cost. New folks may not see it, but ANY remotely experienced woodworker is going to dismiss this demo because they have seen it hundreds of times with those products in the past.
Are the existing products I mentioned a pain to set up? Yep. But I would imagine that creating the programs for this one is just a different flavor of setup pain, along with putting down the tape, setting bit depths, etc. I really do like the innovative notion of the tool, but you really need to differentiate in order to justify the higher costs.
Stunning work
ОтветитьMaybe you should precise the time it took to produce this nice little box in order to compare with other technique :) but I really like the way it brings an automated process back in the hands of human !
ОтветитьI'm so gonna get this machine.
ОтветитьJust ordered a shaper and it's already been dispatched so should get it next week! I can't wait. I have some beautiful exotic woods and 1000's of ideas. I have cut some double dovetails in the past on my Incra router table so I am looking forward to comparing the process.
ОтветитьI want one of these badly - saving up as we speak.
ОтветитьCan plans for this beautiful piece be purchased?
Ответитьliterally been trying to use the machine to do this exact thing! HOW!!!!!!!!!!! understanding AI is so damn annoying
ОтветитьBeautiful.
ОтветитьWhen are these coming to NZ & AUS?
ОтветитьIf you do this box please be aware there are a few errors in the pdf instructions that will monumentally affect your build. The bit suggested for the dovetail is incorrect and there is a measurement depth error on the walnut.
ОтветитьI would like plans for the worktable
ОтветитьVery elegant! Thanks for using my song in there. Suits perfectly. 🙏🏼
ОтветитьThat's incredible!
ОтветитьIt takes all the soul out of woodworking
ОтветитьThis box looks so so nice
ОтветитьWITCH!
Ответитьis there plan to release in Australia?
ОтветитьFabulous in all aspects except the audio music track, I pulled my headphones after 30 seconds. I watched the whole video several times though, fascinating!
ОтветитьThanks for this .. one question! your SVG files uploaded in shaper hub doesn't look working.. Am I wrong?
ОтветитьIl y a beaucoup d'erreurs de dimensions dans le PDF. Les schémas ne correspondent pas aux dimensions des planches. Et la référence de la queue d'aronde ne correspond pas non plus. Donc difficile de reproduire la box.
ОтветитьWork station is great I love mine. But you need to invest in a new dove tail cutter bit. That one is ugly😢
ОтветитьHaving read all the comments I can sort of see the point of a lot of the critique when they have not used the machine. I just bought mine a month ago after watching this video. 2 days after getting it I went away for 3 weeks so in real time I have only been using it since last Friday. I have everything in my shop. Many of the incra tools that people mention. I have a full size router table on my Sawstop which allows me to use the fence for precision cuts that can accomplish what this video demonstrates. I also have a CNC machine that I built myself. After purchasing the Shaper, I realized that it is not really a CNC. The main difference is that the cut paths of a CNC machine are 3 axis. Shaper is 2 axis and the user provides the the depth for the most part. CNC's can carve shapes and virtually render images similar to a 3d printer. Having said that I should make it clear that I am not in the least bit disappointed with Shaper. My attitude changed though only after I began to use it. The main reason is that Shaper is the most brilliantly executed tool I have ever used. Let me qualify this by saying right off the bat that if I did not have workstation I probably would not think this. This machine will not replace my router table, CNC, jointer, chop saw, planer, bandsaw, chisels, lathe or palm router or any other tool I have. These tools all have their place. Shaper however accomplishes something that I have struggled with. Beautiful, elegant and imaginative joinery and hardware. Virtually any hardware is now a walk in the park. Any joint is possible. Any detail you can imagine. Let's also add how quiet it is. I hate being in the room when my cnc is running. This thing is so quiet and dust free you don't even think you are cutting sometimes. I am sure some people want to know if Shaper could replace other tools and stand alone in a shop. I don't think so. Sure you can cut out parts and with an infinite amount of shaper tape the world would be your oyster. This makes possible detailed marquetry and inlays on a broad scale. And perhaps if you wanted to do that, you could build a business around Shaper. For me Shaper is a precision tool and in a woodworking shop there is always the need for that differentiating detail to make your work stand apart. Shaper does not want to automate woodwork, it just wants to enhance it.
Ответить😮❤
ОтветитьWhat is the name of the music and artist. Perfect sound for this video. Thanks.
ОтветитьDude, that looks amazing! I just got a shaper and I'd love to make dovetails like this.
ОтветитьAre there any detailed instructions anywhere for the double dovetail process? This video is very calming but the 9 svg files don’t really help very much without any instructions on how to use them.
ОтветитьI assume half blind dovetails are possible. What about single pass half blind?
