Today we make a full studio speaker calibration in my home studio. Will the Sonarworks SoundID Reference give me the $100,000 sound??? Make sure you watch the whole video to get the full impression of this studio speaker & headphones calibration software! Let me know if you enjoy the video!
Thanks! 🙏

I'm using an older version that was still made for Linux (which they sadly ditched) just for my headphones on every track. I can only imagine how much of a difference this would make on my speakers. I guess this in the second best solution to treating your room with acoustic elements, 2nd only, as you can't get rid of problems with room echos / reverb this way, but of course you can fix dips and resonances with elaborate EQing, like with this software.

Mattias, learn to use compression and limiting properly (gathered from listening to your mix) and, also don't ever tell someone to use a shotgun mic for room calibration, which is a hyper-cardioid pattern; using a shotgun mic will really screw up the calibration in a room. The massive amount of misinformation out here on the web (including your site) is just sad to me. Amateurs are fine if they're not trying to pass themselves off as experts. Think about this before you disseminate misinformation to people legitimately looking for help in audio.

I found your video trying to find a way to get as neutral as a reference as I can. I mix mostly in dt990s myself, but I also have a pair of HS8's with sub. Honestly everything sounds great in both but colored a little different and I feel like I'm supposed to trust the real speakers more? I'm worried that while the soundID might improve the sound it might add its own color? I feel like some sort of eq plugin for my headphones would be more accurate?

Funny enough we tried using my own microphone and the correction was so similar. 😢. Could have save a few bucks.

Hello Mattias, I have a question. Do you have to run all audio through this software to get the better sound? As I don't understand how this can calibrate & improve the sound of any headphones or speakers?

I would think you would need some kind of computer chip in the headphones or speakers for it to improve their sound quality from any audio source?

And if you calibrate a pair of headphones or speakers once, are they calibrated permanently?

I think the testing tool may have cost more than your near field monitors

I’m having a problem where I hear the microphone in my speakers. I have the Audient id14 mk2 and I don’t know how to turn off direct monitoring is frustrating bc I try looking for information on how and no luck
