why did sonic 3 and knuckles do most of the things sonic 3 origins did like 9 years before? im talking about readding the big arms boss and the cutscene made from the sonic and knuckles title screen. they did this first but sonic 3 origins copied

Played it recently, and boy, is it great as heck. Normally, I'm against ROM hacks, but this one made an already masterpiece game even better than before! It's excellent!

Honestly, ever since the November 1994 proto of Sonic 3 was released, I wished the Sonic 3 Complete would get one more update with the actual tracks - vs the ports of the Sonic & Knuckles Collection midis (since once you hear the songs proper, S3&K Collection versions IMO are utter ass. Maybe too much of an ask these days but ah well, eh.

I mean, you could put sonic classics on sonic and knuckles, and you would get BLUE SPHERES STILL

I'd say it's perfect except for 2 things: not having the Super Sonic theme available from Sonic 2, and it would've been nice if I could have kept the regular stage music instead of having to speed it up like the speed shoes. It uses some SS theme from a game I'm not aware of, which sounds nice but doesn't sound as awesome as Sonic 2's theme. As for the level layout, what does recommended do, randomize them? Couldn't really see a difference but most of the time I set the level layout to Sonic 3

With level themes being set to recommended, what does this change? I set both of them including knuckles route to Sonic 3, and I'm not even sure what his routes were in Sonic 3, they weren't finished. Recommended I assume randomizes some elements depending on how many lives/continues you got or something, like putting the spring back in hydrocity if you have many lives

Imagine if Blue sphere would also have settings like speed up timer, or get red spheres when playing with Knuckles
For those who don't know why Blue sphere timer could be an actual setting is because when playing Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles/Sonic 3 & Knuckles and entering the Blue sphere special stage the game speeds up every 30 seconds. But when playing Sonic 1 & Knuckles (Get Blue spheres) the game speeds up every 45 seconds instead

Here is the best sonic 3 and knuckles remake in my opinion (Sonic 3 & Knuckles Angel Island Revisited)

Without a doubt one of the best ROM hacks that simply improve on the original. I can have different Sonic 3 experiences just from changing one or two things. A lot of the things I didn't like or had my head scratching from the original are fixed in this hack and it's awesome.

I didn't realise there were still bugs in the hack from the original but considering that there were a lot of bugs from the original one or two slipping through is inevitable. Great review RHS, it really showed how awesome this hack is, looking forward to your next review as well as your live stream of this hack
