I love gnome I know alot of people hate it though
ОтветитьI like Plasma more, because it is faster, uses less resources, has many customization options and features, widget based desktops + panels and great effects.
And on GNOME instead of many customization options you have so many extensions that are third party and can break or make the system more unstable.
I've reinstalled Ubuntu on my laptop, but went with 16.04. Really not a fan of GNOME 3.
ОтветитьThanks for the video! Love how you breezed through the convoluted mess of getting extensions installed and up and running like a pro! Unfortunately I got fed up and uninstalled GNOME 3 from my system. Some of those extensions might of helped with my experience. I'm still upset that the functions aren't built in like every other desktop. I'm playing with Cinnamon now. It's snappy, but I still prefer KDE Plasma.
ОтветитьYes KDE is fast but to be honest it doesn't feel a modern desktop anymore, so I always keep going back to Gnome. You should enable cycle through windows in the scroll action within dash to dock setting. and don't forget to extend it if you want with autohide. then gnome desktop become a mouse_scrolling driven UI
ОтветитьNice review bro.
you should take a look on Gsconnect for android integration in gnome.
َAlso Gpast a clipboard manager and Acr menu Much better than َapplication menu you used.
I enjoy the content of ur channel every time.
I extended my gnome desktop by installing KDE
Ответитьcoverflow alt tab
ОтветитьVideo was helpful thank you sir :-P
ОтветитьConsidering how Mac-like Gnome is, it's really bizarre how they are the ONLY major DE without a global menu option. Of all things, KDE Plasma, the most Windows-like, has the best global menu support, and it's baked in. Xfce and LXDE can use TopMenu, Mate and Xfce can use the Vala Panel Appmenu plugin, and Gnome...gets diddly squat. WTF, really.
ОтветитьDash to dock and Extended Gestures are must-haves for me. I'm on a laptop with a good trackpad and I want to make use of the trackpad. I really wish it was the default that you could show the dock by simply moving the cursor to the left side of the screen (but still be hidden if the windows is maximised) and could open the Overview with a trackpad gesture (I use three-finger swipe up), but for now I have to use extensions. I also use Alternatetab so the Alt-Tab would cycle only through windows of the current workspace which makes much more sence that the default.
ОтветитьMy favourite extensions are no title bar + dash to panel + top icons
> panel @ the top
> window controls on the left
> taskbar in the centre
> system tray on the right
Can you get the dock also for both panels?
Ответитьi only use 3 extensions flowcover alt-tab, transparent gnome panel ant transparent window moving
ОтветитьBro I'm not able to download it. It is saying that " THE ADD-ON DOWNLOADED FROM THIS SITE COULD NOT BE INSTALLED BECAUSE IT APPEARS TO BE CORRUPT! Pls help
ОтветитьFor those who don't know, you can install extensions from GNOME Software. No need to install browser extensions or host connectors.
Ответитьinstalling that program helped me thanks
ОтветитьLove GS Connect extension. 😍
ОтветитьGreat video, thank you
ОтветитьCheck a extension called tiling assist
ОтветитьI just want to know how I can enable right clicking the dock and getting the menu with "add to dock" that's all I need to do.
ОтветитьIt was so helpful, thanks! And is there a way to create a shortcut entry to desktop by tweak? Like move firefox icon to gnome desktop so that I can directly open the software on desktop. On tweaks window, I enabled 'Desktop icons' item, but can only set personal folder and trash icon in the desktop. I just want to add the terminal and firefox icon on desktop. Thanks a lot!
ОтветитьHow to uninstall it
