Gasparilla Island and Pass

Gasparilla Island is a 7 mile tropical barrier island in southwest Florida, just north of Gasparilla Island (aka Boca Grand). The two islands are separated by Gasparilla Pass, an inlet southwest of the town of Placida, Florida. Gasparilla Pass connects Placida Harbor with the Gulf of Mexico.
Gasparilla Island is located about halfway between Sarasota and Fort Myers, Florida.
Carlson resides primarily on Gasparilla Island in Florida. This barrier island situated on the Gulf Coast is a secluded community of 2,800 people known as Boca Grande. Other notable figures like George HW Bush, Matt Damon, and Katherine Hepburn have also called this place home at various times.
