This story is amazing!
Ответитьtldr: they got them completely legit, backed up, canadian passports.... so ofcourse they just pretty much walked trough customs and just got on a flight... if you have an actual legit passport, that gets backed bu the country that issued it, then what is the problem, you basically just left as any other legit canadian would have ... because you were in fact, a legit canadian, i dont see the whole deal
ОтветитьA great story and it adds context to the movie. At the end of the movie credits it was interesting that Jimmy Carter made no mention of his failed military rescue and didn’t mention they were only returned to Ronald Reagan.
ОтветитьAnyone knows how can I get this SUBTITLED?? Thanks from Spain!
ОтветитьBryan Cranston has a great narrator voice
ОтветитьWhy is Tony Mendez in an attic? lol
Ответитьhow did they get through customs with American accents
ОтветитьDidn't a spy write that story? Yeah right, spies regularly spill the beans lol! Jimmy Carter said it was the Canadians.
ОтветитьIt's a shame the CIA failed to forsee the possibility of the Embassy take over in the first place.
Ответитьthat is Bryan Cranston's voice
ОтветитьGood work, Canada. Thanks for being such a strong ally and good neighbor. Now, could you do me a favor and send me a box of Cubans? Thanks!
ОтветитьPretty cool, Thanks Canada!
ОтветитьThat is why the CIA is powerful.
ОтветитьTony did such a wonderful job getting the Americans out of Iran 👏👏.
ОтветитьThis Man is a legend god bless him for coming up with such a brilliant idea! Argo fuuuck your self!
ОтветитьRIP Antonio J Mendez, and may I mention his Mexican descendency that ex President Trump classifies as "criminals"
Ответить👑
ОтветитьNice Video
ОтветитьIt is very distracting and irritating to have your name, in very large print, on the screen.
ОтветитьThe main reason this nonsense movie was made , was to take away all the credit away from Canada and Ken Taylor . It made the U.S. appear weak that , they had to go to Canada for help , so the story was totally twisted around , to make it look like the U.S. did all the work .
Ответитьcan
ОтветитьNo no no in the movie there was a car chase scene with the plane lol
ОтветитьDid they really spend their time in Tehran cooking ham?!
ОтветитьJust to be 100% clear: The CIA DID NOT fool the world. Just a tinpot dictatorship. And it still needed Canada's help to do it.
ОтветитьRIP Tony Mendez (1940 - 2019) Thank you for your service for the nation. Thank you Canada for the support in this mission.
ОтветитьJust found this great documentary. I had seen the movie several years ago and was astounded by the brave rescue. I, too, am appreciative of how Canada manned up and supported these hostages. Thank you, Canada!
ОтветитьIs Bryan Cranston narrating this?
ОтветитьBryan Cranston narrating
ОтветитьThe cia played a minor role in the rescue. As president carter noted in his interview afterwards, about 90% of it was done by Canada.
ОтветитьYou notice this kind of stuff only happens when we have weak democratic Presidents in office.
ОтветитьI was there when they got off the airplane in NY
ОтветитьThank you President Carter for not listening to the State Department and leaving them there to be taken to the other hostages
ОтветитьThankyou Canada ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьHopefully this can never happen again. Iran made a great mistake in charging and raiding the US Embassy. This mistake has hurt them badly in any type of relationship with the USA. Yes the former President of Iran messed things up too. Now with the war in the Gaza strips and Iran supporting Hamas is ruining the relationship with the USA. Thank goodness for the efforts of Canada, its organizations and the USA and its organizations. I don't know all the things the CIA does, but I'm thankful there work in this.
ОтветитьBrian Cranston…..good actor……low information….Left Wing mouthpiece….repeats what his handlers tell him
ОтветитьMarg bar America
ОтветитьUncle Tony minus Parkinson's. How precious.
ОтветитьIt's so interesting. Uncle Tony is " Antonio " yet even Aunt Jonna calls him " Tony ". Jose Ferrer, my dearest uncle figure, liked to be called " Joe ". No, I'm not trying to imply that my beloved humans are self hating- it's just something " cute " that they share. I " compromise- Mendez is " Tony " and Ferrer is " Jose ". 🤣
ОтветитьAmazing. So if Uncle Tony was gonna design fake documents for me he would keep June as my birth month but use my mom's birthday ( June 5 ) or my brother's birthday ( June 2 ) as " my " birthday! Antonio Mendez, you are a bloody genius.
ОтветитьSee why i should be a diplomat...
Nobody wants me.
Canada was the real hero in this story. They worked the plan, executed the plan, and was frustrated by the slow responses and decisions by the Carter administration. Without the Canadian government this would have been a success. The CIA watched the events they didn't execute it... Total bull shit story
ОтветитьGreat title - “Argo: inside story”. Because you certainly couldn’t call it “ Argo: True Story.
If you want the true story listen to President Carter talk about it. He said 80% credit belongs to Canadian government. Do you honestly think the US would ever change their laws just to print fake American passports to help kidnapped Canadians or Brits?
Just watched this documentary. Amazing, heroic stuff! I'm a little confused though, as I've seen 2 interviews with President Carter talking about the movie Argo. He said, and I quote, "90% of the contributions to the ideas and the consummation of the plan was Canadian, and the movie gives almost full credit to the American CIA. And with that exception, the movie is very good"! I note there's a clip in the movie where a CIA agent says "the Brits and Kiwis refused to help"!! Well I happen to know the Brits and Kiwis did in fact help, both hosting Americans until the British Embassy became unsafe and, at personal risk, ferrying the Americans to the much safer Canadian Embassy.
So, I guess my question is why does Hollywood feel the constant need to over inflate the contribution of Americans whilst downplaying that of other nations. In other words, re-writing history? Also, why does this documentary follow the narrative of the movie, rather than real history? Reminds me of that wonderful, historically accurate movie 'U571'.
Imagine if Trump was president😂
ОтветитьRIP Tony, you are a true hero. I'm so glad your story finally came out and you and your team got the recognition you deserved.
ОтветитьGod bless Canada, Great Britain and the Commonwealth!
ОтветитьI was only probably 13 years old when this happened but I remember when this hostage scenario was going on. But had NO IDEA this is how we got them out!! Incredible story!
