The 101st had American flags sown to their sleeves when they dropped into Normandy. Paratroops were not overweight, middle-aged men, and I suppose we are to believe they picked up English accents while they were training in Engalnd.

The Garand was a fcuking Elephant gun. From what i remember, it was a basturd to clean, with so many working parts. And it came with a bipd. Lol. You could knock down a castles gates with a Garand.

So proud of my grandmother's little brother, my uncle Ernest was just a poor hillbilly from Muldrow Oklahoma in the Cookson Hills when he was drafted in WW2, and he volunteered for the Airborn for the extra 50 bucks a month!! Made all 3 combat jumps with the 101st ABID! Wish he could have lived longer. He passed away in 1995, a multi millionaire !!

There’s no such thing as 502 Company. 502 would be a regiment. A unit designation from regiment to company would be Charlie company 1/502. The 1/502 is 1st battalion of the 502 regiment (ABN). The ABN is airborne. These little details matter.
