A bit of doublestick tape to hold the blank on the table and a chisel or small router plane would be safer and likely produce a better recess.
ОтветитьI love this angel. The light behind you makes it look like you have a cocked halo.
ОтветитьBeen waiting for this one! Thanks! I tried a few years ago, on my own and I was making it way too complicated. I know what I'm doing tonight! Probably start with a plain one, and then I'll try a character. It will be nice to be able to properly protect my blades when I go camping.
ОтветитьLove covers
Ответить😂😂 une auréolé au-dessus de ta tête c'est cool
ОтветитьGreat making video anyway. Not to bad at all. 👍👍
ОтветитьIt's like a Pucco Sheath!
ОтветитьVery creative, smart idea.
ОтветитьAnother awesome idea and video Doug. Just plain fun and easy carvings.🙂

ОтветитьThese are so awesome! I can hardly wait to see how mine turn out!! Kinda excited to see the contest entires & winners!
ОтветитьAs always a very interesting video😀
ОтветитьMan what do you do for work? I noticed you had a hive tool in one of your videos so your a carver, beekeeper, bushcrafter, wood worker. How does a guy find the time?
ОтветитьI just got done watching the wild life on Disney + and they kept on saying Doug. Which, It really didn't connect it to you. Until, I heard the man talk, and all I could do is think of you.
ОтветитьQuestion. I made three of these and after stropping and wiping three OCC knives I put them in and they worked great. But, two days later I pulled them out and all three had a small surface rust?! I cleaned them up and re stropped but I am hesitant to try again. Anyone have an idea?
ОтветитьПривет. Новостные программы рассказывают о большом количестве пожаров в мире. Как у тебя дела?
ОтветитьThanks for the great idea, I've made two so far. The Raccoon and the Beaver.
Ответитьyou NEVER disappoint! Really love this idea vs just using a wine cork. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas and the new shop is looking great!
ОтветитьImagine my surprise Doug when I saw your face plastered in my copy of WCI. Too cool, great magazine and fantastic teacher partners!
ОтветитьI bought a flexcut knife, it will be here tomorrow I know the knife doesn't make the carver, but the knife I am using now was okay to try out wood carving so now it is time for an up grade. Thanks for all the videos they are so inspiring.
ОтветитьGot my subscription today for the magazine! Also used the code. Can’t wait!
ОтветитьExcellent idea using the leather insert and could use quite hard wood as well, if not trying to do fancy carving.
ОтветитьThis looks like a really fun project!
ОтветитьGreat video !!!
ОтветитьLeathers which were chrome-tanned will not attack the metal in blades. Leather which was acid-tanned, like most tooling-leathers can be very corrosive. Learned that the hard way....
ОтветитьDoug, just curious, what part of the country are you located.
ОтветитьYou could also mark the type of knife on the outside of the piece to.
ОтветитьGreat project, ideal gifts too thought
😃.Had a Random thought It you had a drill bit the right size, these could be pen/ pencil toppers too.
And here I was with a worn out birch sheath looking to get something new. Of course Doug comes through. Gotta make a Moai one of these for my knife. 😂
ОтветитьVery nice job Doug. God bless.
ОтветитьYou can make monies on those
ОтветитьGreat idea, I’m gonna carve a cover that turns my knife into a spork.
ОтветитьAppreciate your help and knowledge Doug. Salute
ОтветитьI like your halo.😂
ОтветитьGood idea. I will do this one. I will keep it flat on the opposite side of where stick the knife in. This way I can have it standing up on the desk. Rgrds Olle
ОтветитьReally enjoying you videos! Looking to start as a beginner.
Thanks for the carving instruction.
What if I don't have a bandsaw
ОтветитьBrilliant!!
Ответить👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьThis is an awesome idea!
ОтветитьThankyou Doug
ОтветитьHey Doug! Very cool. I like your knife protectors a lot! Thanks for sharing :)
ОтветитьVery nice
ОтветитьThanks Doug l was wondering what to do with my knifes to cover them and l had carved a lot of hillbillies l use big handle knives because l have rheumatoid arthritis they work well
ОтветитьIf you don't want to use leather, is there some other material I can use?
