It's really something the Lord made.❤❤, diploma man earning a doctorate honor in such racism of that time. Glory be to God.
ОтветитьVery inspiring.
ОтветитьI throughly enjoyed this true story. I now know who Dr Vivien Thomas is. When I visit JH hospital I will look for his portrait!
ОтветитьBeautiful movie, a masterpiece
ОтветитьGo Mos Def!
ОтветитьOohh that's Professor Snape, the dressing threw me off a little bit but that's Snape alright that voice is recognizable
ОтветитьI heard it again...I cant finish this movie. Taking the Lord's name in vain is not a small matter.
ОтветитьI reversed the "like" because I heard the Lord's name taken in vain !!!

Ответить109923 movie that I am watching. Dean.
ОтветитьToo much cussing not watching.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this movie it shows how the mind and heart can come together and create something great beyond color but a respect for life
ОтветитьGreat movie. Honestly, it's hard to watch such disgusting racist bigotry toward such a dignified, superior, intelligent man. Thanks for posting the movie. I wish there was more of a balance, more integration of modern and traditional medicines like TCM and acupuncture. You know that there is a technique in acupuncture where no anesthesia is needed. I've seen it with my own eyes. Imagine a world with less, much less petrol chemical meds, big pharma.
Ответить😊😊
ОтветитьI like scene in which Vivien is having a dream,it surely shows that that it the surgery had God's blessings
ОтветитьThey were just using his intellect for their own interest, very sad. This movie shows how they steal from black intelligence for centuries.
ОтветитьOne of the best movies ever made.
Ответитьnyse history

ОтветитьExcellent movie, had me in tears in the end not for being sad but for being so grateful this young man never gave up!
ОтветитьThis movie got me emotional. Its a brilliant one.
ОтветитьI was in need of watching a movie like to regain confidence on moving on in my life... No matter how long it takes, acknowledgement comes... Just need to keep pushing and push hundred time more when ever you have born been Black.... It is such a hard mission, but at a end of the day it is a blessing ❤
ОтветитьWow... a wonderful movie
ОтветитьBeyond a story of a black man overcoming racism and segregation, it's a story of an intelligent man that didn't have a formal education succeeding. Although it was from a selfish standpoint, Dr. Blalock saw Vivian Thomas' abilities and intelligence, and utilized him to achieve greater things.
While that honorary doctorate was portrayed as a great accomplishment, I feel it's akin to a lifetime achievement award. He was working in medicine for 46 years at that point. The hospital and his colleagues knew how invaluable he was, yet, they waited 40 years. I wonder, though, had he been white, if they would have given him that doctorate 20 years earlier.
Today, however, because of the over emphasis of a piece of paper, Dr. Thomas never would have had the opportunity to advance in his career at all. He would be lucky to be promoted to lab technician. And, unless he made some great contribution on his own time, using his own money, he never would have received a doctorate. That closed door mentality is shutting out those who can make a difference and advance society, based solely on academic prejudice.
Loved this movie. Thank you for educating the world about Dr. Vivien Thomas' accomplishments!

ОтветитьI can do that 🤔 I'm becoming a doctor 😂❤❤❤
ОтветитьI recommend ❤❤❤
ОтветитьDr Blaylock should have enrolled him to help him earn a formal certification and qualification as a doctor. I didn't like the way he was dismissed and unacknowledged after the first breakthrough heart operation.
ОтветитьPlease don't criticized me, is it true that on 1930's and beyond, black was always underclassed? Please forgive me as I'm seeing on rhis movie, like giving way to whites when passing by, sitting white infront and some other things, but i noticed that blacks are so respectful.
