Thank you! Does this help with dandruff?

ОтветитьCould never wash my hair daily
ОтветитьLove your personality on camera.
I'd consider consulting a board certified dermatologist about this though. An oily scalp is more about genetics, diet, topical ingredients, environmental exposure, hormonal fluctuations, and hygiene practices like you mentioned (shampooing effectively, touching your hair less, cleansing frequency, clean towels and styling tools, etc).
Sebum production is simply a biological function, not a response to whether you've shampooed recently or not.
Personally, I've played around with shampooing frequency and I just can't go without washing every day or every other day at most. Using a salicylic acid shampoo semi-regularly seems to leave my scalp feeling pretty clarified during oiler times.
I also don't think dry shampoo should be a frequent go-to for most people. It's not a cleansing agent as it's marketed, it's cost prohibitive for many, and can be really irritating to the scalp and respiratory system causing more problems. With an oily scalp, I find it's best to use only in a pinch to freshen up midday/event strictly to help maintain your hair style, but it's not a rinse and lather shampoo replacement.
Thanks ❤
ОтветитьI googled my name and this shit came up
Ответитьlove u but there are just ppl with greasy hair. i have had very greasy hair since i was a young child. i have never heat treated or dyed my hair in my life (in my mid 20s now) and for 4 years i was washing my hair twice a week and following most if not all of these tips at time. i have very fine and thin pin straight hair. even after these years of trying techniques, my hair was still getting noticably greasy about 6 hours after washing. i now wash my hair twice a day before bed and when i wake up as my hair is greasy by the morning time but also is very greasy by bed time, making me feel gross. i now use no products in my hair besides shampoo and my hair looks and feels the most healthy it ever has.
ОтветитьI've got seborrheic dermatitis and I've been washing my hair once a week with ketoconazole shampoo for some time now and it's perfect litterally right after drying but then it becomes so greasy the next day :/ What am I doing wrong?
ОтветитьDo you have any wide tooth comb or boar bristle brushes you would recommend? 💗
ОтветитьYou make Pee Wee Herman look like Sylvester Stallone
ОтветитьThis was super helpful!! Thanks so much, I bought your pre wash scalp oil and excited to try it!
ОтветитьJonathan Van Ness blocked me out of Instagram for making a comment about palestinian people bombarded by Israel...after years of following him, so disappointed but glad I do not follow people that silence comments about the genocide!
ОтветитьAnother tip, if you have dark hair, apply dry shampoo at night and it will absorb overnight and will not be oily.
Ответитьthem hoes need to come see you
ОтветитьI think my issue was overwashing, thanks for tue video!
ОтветитьYou need to stop spreading misinformation based on your personal feelings that arent based on known facts. Please if you really care about children, check out the story of Briana Ivy, a transgender woman who fully transitioned as a child. It has completely ruined her life as well as 25k plus detransitioners that cant go back because puberty blockers cause permanent damage.
ОтветитьWhat shampoo / soap would you recommend we wash our brushes in? Love you 🥰
I’ve been hoping you’d talk about cleaning brushes and yay you have! 😍
WE'VE HAD IT
ОтветитьI like Jonathan but nothing in this video is accurate. Oil production is largely determined by your genetics not your washing routine. You cannot train your scalp to produce less oil, that’s not a thing. Furthermore sebum buildup can lead to irritation and aggravate certain conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, androgen alopecia, dandruff etc. How often you can wash your hair will vary depending on your hair texture and condition. For example, people who suffer from seborrheic dermatitis like myself can benefit from daily washing with no detriment to hair quality or scalp health, in fact preventing sebum accumulation is key in managing it. Please talk to a board certified dermatologist not a stylist. While they can provide useful tips in terms of actually styling hair, this is really outside of their scope and this type of advice can actually cause damage ✌🏼
Ответитьi would love to oil my hair but i have seborrheic dermatitis and i am scared it might get worse :((
ОтветитьFunnily enough, I just watched a Dr. Dray video where she says “over washing hair makes it more oily” is actually a myth. Some people just naturally have oilier hair.
ОтветитьI saw your interview with Dax. I'm a trans teenager currently dealing with a lot of transphobia rn in my school and I just want to say that what you did means so much to me. Your words mean so much to me. And I love how even though you're tired you just keep fighting. You are so strong I love you!❤
ОтветитьHello delusional man / gas lighter. I no longer respect your views and suddenly find your whole look and act ridiculous and shallow. Congratulations for showing us who you are, so us people that don't lie on principle don't have to pretend to not cringe when being polite to you.
ОтветитьThis video came at the perfect time in my life. I never had oily hair til now and I’m freaking out about how to handle it
ОтветитьNice phobe go to , thats what you guys do 😂 quit making junk up, its just simply how things work. Gota make everything about everyone else being the phobe. So much for tolerance 😂
ОтветитьWhen did you become the raging misogynist you are now? Was your Mom to blame?
ОтветитьYou know what's actually fictitious, Jonathan? Nonbinary.
ОтветитьMen do not belong in women's sports.
ОтветитьSo he’s an effeminate gay dude who now thinks he’s a woman? 😂
ОтветитьLIAR ....Lia Thomas DID set records you Liar
ОтветитьI got my hair done professionally for the first time and she recommended a sulfate shampoo and I was shocked. I’ll stick with my JVN
ОтветитьGood for Van Ness for knowing that birthing bodies don't belong in sports.
ОтветитьTips on how to keep straightened hair straight throughout the day??
HELPPP
you have some of the best brows in the game! please do a video about their care and maintenance, how to correct over tweezing, shaping techniques, filling, etc.
ОтветитьThis is so helpful! Any suggestions for heat protection products that won’t make thin hair feel more oily on day 2? I’m struggling!
ОтветитьAs someone with seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp, I struggle with flaky but oily scalp with my short, masculine style. I found not washing everyday made me soooo itchy on the second day. Zinc shampoo for me everyday + antifungal every other week for me to maintain my hair/scalp🤷♂️
ОтветитьWhen I started working from home, I pretty quickly switched up my shower routine and I definitely noticed an improvement in the oiliness of my hair after a couple months. And then I started using this shampoo bar which made everything about my hair feel better. But because my hair is so thin and fine, I am still super aware of the oil and I still have to wash it every other day if I plan on leaving my house at all, lol. But I'm definitely going to try the oil treatment because I would like a little more control over the situation!
ОтветитьWashing my fringe in the sink by itself was a game changer.
ОтветитьJonathan i really like you❤ you are so optimistic and positive person. I love watching Queer Eye😊I hope you will make more series.
Greetings from Poland❤
Do you ever need sulphates in shampoo?
ОтветитьWashing your hair daily doesn’t make your scalp greasy. That’s like saying washing your face daily makes it greasy. Neither are true.
Sebum is hormonally controlled, it’s not increased by washing.
Studies have shown that people who wash hair daily have healthier scalps and lower sebum content.
Thank you Hair Goddess I am now armed and ready to break the oily cycle 😊
ОтветитьLove you JVN ❤
ОтветитьI was today years old when I learned I am supposed to be cleaning my brushes with SOAP.
ОтветитьThese tips are AMAZING! What’s your advice for wash frequency for people who workout a lot/sweat 4-5 days a week?
ОтветитьIf you're AFAB, where you are in your cycle can make such a big difference here, too.
ОтветитьI started using a frizz free shampoo for 2 months and my scalp has become sooooo oily. I haven't had this much oil since I was a teen. Can the wrong shampoo really do that in is it something else? I follow all of these tips already. My routine hasn't changed.
ОтветитьI would love a hairbrush cleaning tutorial video
