On the AKG study I recall that Adam Antebi's presentation showed that AKG was elevated with low insulin. In mice I think. Would be interesting to do a controlled trial in humans in which diet and exercise regimes, without AKG supplementation, were employed to yield different insulin levels and see how this correlated with natural AKG levels as well other important metabolites.

No dairy I wonder their bone health? I consume cows plain yoghurt for calcium and protein according to Australia dietician guidelines, 1300mg for me. Dr Gabrielle Lyins advocates for protein to provide essential nutrients for muscles & bones with resistance exercise.

I like Dan's indirect and negative comment which was clearly directed toward Bryan Johnson: "...these Silicon Valley billionaires who
lived stressful lives and now they've added being a militant vegan and working out four hours a day and shooting their themselves up with the blood of their children seems to me to be prolonging a crappy life..."

Sorry but Dan does not know anything about longetivity but rather how to be a vegan. I live in Sadinia and we eat meat, cheese, drink wine and eat local veggies. Nobody does 6,800 steps where i live, sorry

How do blue zone lifestyle and habits based on pooulation studies help the west. Surely we need modern science based regimes and technology to make fundamental changes and improvements at the level of biophysics and biochemistry.

All of my Japanese friends who have family or friends living in Okinawa eat LOTS of meat EVERY day. The only time Okinawans could not eat their normal, healthy diet of meat, especially pork, was during WW2 , when animal protein was not available. High protein from meat is the Proper Human Diet. The only person to die from cancer in my family of heavy-meat eating farmers, was a life-long vegetarian.

Very interesting! Dr. Kennedy, has your group by chance done any lipidomic studies on old vs. young (mice or people), or youthful old people vs. regular old people? Or people in those blue zones vs. other places? Curious....
