Can anyone tell me does ankylosing spondylitis flare up with day to day activities and working? I am currently waiting to see a rhuematologist, my symptoms include, sore feet, sore Achilles and calf's, my knees ache. Got a lot of pain in my buttocks and my hip/pelvis and lower back, my shoulders are sore when lifting my arms, forearms at the elbow are sore with limited movement, hands and fingers ache with less grip. Had x-rays in most places everything clear apart from my neck which been told I have cervical spondylosis. Got a vitamin D defiency but been taking vit d for 5 months no change in how I feel if anything feel worse. I am always in pain but when I finish my job everyday I am extremely stiff and my whole body is crying in pain. My mental health is suffering. I'm only 44 and male. P it's hard to describe how I feel to people because on the outside I look fine

ОтветитьI have the tandem sciatica pain but it doesn’t stay in one side for three months, it only stay on left side but then next day it’s on other side for a couple minutes and back to the right side for most of the time but also both sides at a time every day just more on the left ! These symptoms started on the left for the first two months then the pain went to the right with left side pain at the same time! And some times both hips hurt! I’m waiting for Rheumatology appointment! It is this consistent with AS
ОтветитьThank you Dr for this explanations. My 12 year old son has just been diagnosed of Ankylosing spondylitis after suffering from this consistent back, knee and ankle pain for over 18 months. In his case however, the pain has never ceased and no pain killer has ever given him relief, at some points, he couldn't even walk so we use wheelchair, this has happened about 3 times and may last for up to 5 weeks. Currently his blood pressure is high and he is having recurring headaches. Can it still be Ankylosing spondylitis?

ОтветитьThank you si much for this tutoring this masters class, on A.S. i do have all of this symptoms, and at first i was diagnosed with Lupus and fribromialgia, then Lupus went into remission, so now Doctors said is only osteoarthritis, but i had the feeling it was something else, because the eye probles, the Rib pain, the lungs and heart problems, plus all of those other symptoms attacks me every single day, now i finally see the light......is this desease curable?
ОтветитьI am a sufferer of AS and this presentation was the most thorough description of my condition that I have watched. It covered my life and conditions very thoroughly. It is impossible for me to sleep flat. I think that rheumatologists should have this video because my diagnosis was missed for many years.
The doctors denied my complaints for years because they did not understand the relation even though I carried the HLA-B27 gene.
Interesting - i hv tandem sciatica it does alternative right to left. U got it 100% right
