I have been interested in learning more about surfing lately, thank you for this series, these girls are very empowering!

Practicing for Pipe, even when the women do have some heats out there, has got to be the most difficult. I come from an area famous for being impossible to get waves from the crowd/localism. And threat of serious injury or death if you fuck up. Pipe is gnarlier than 99% of my home breaks. My Mav's days were in the early-mid 90's, so even though it's a heavier wave, it wasn't hard to get waves to yourself. Lots of uncrowded days back then. Getting the practice out at Pipe, like Moana becoming a real Pipe local, seems like the only way. Lotta dues paid. Respect.
