You make a great team, you and Simone 😄
ОтветитьTanos boxes are cool, but they're also crazy expensive...
ОтветитьI have been wondering for years when you would finally discover that you can have a lot of fun designing in a 3D CAD program. I did not know about Solid Works for Makers. I have been using IronCad which aI have been in love with as it is very intuitive for designing compared to the traditional version of Solid Works. But when I get somewhere with high speed internet access I look forward to giving it s try. I travel full time in my little caravan and do not have a Starlink connection. But next June will be near an affordable maker space in Flagstaff Arizona for a few months. They are very friendly to nomadic makers!
ОтветитьЛаура,, то что надо!!👍👏👏👏
ОтветитьMeasure once, cut 100 times. Love it.
ОтветитьYep this is my rule at work, measure once… make that the template and then you never have to measure again
ОтветитьMinecraft Storage System ❤😂
ОтветитьWhat bins are these? Awesome that you can buy the shelf component!
ОтветитьToo bad Solid Works won't allow billing from Brazil, I really wanted this chance to experience it.
ОтветитьI wish you and Simone would cheer up!
ОтветитьGreat video! Love the motown style music. Sounds like a real band. interesting how the color changes so much between your studio and simone's. Maybe you used her camera? Cool project!
ОтветитьLaura! Put your safety glasses on! I'm not going to watch your videos when you are blind and just telling people how important PPE is. Only old men believe in the safety squint.
ОтветитьAdam Savage's "sortimo" system used standard soft close, ball bearing slides with sheet metal trays as the standard unit, this allows the systainer to be pulled out full length & left in place with lid tilted up, doesn't need to be carted to a flat space. You could put in a few pull out shelves for holding the systainers in use to mimic that. It's one of the cleverer features he identified that helps keep clutter under control in real time
ОтветитьIs "blech" German for "junk drawer"? 😂
ОтветитьDynamic storage systems are a bitch to set up, but essential in a shop and I can't believe you brought those aluminum boxes all the way to LA
Ответить❤Algorithmus und so ❤hat keine 6 Wörter 😢
ОтветитьReminder: The earlier you put the wall insulation the better.
The more you populate the shop, the more troublesome it will be later on.
Back to the roots. love the montage :)
ОтветитьAs you were using a sender - I though you were pulling it out the same way you pull out the tape from tape-mate ;)
Ответитьi will pay you one banana peel to know what is in the Blech drawer.
ОтветитьOfftopic but i looooooove that your podcast is back! Thanks Mel and Laura!
ОтветитьDesigner Garage! It's Beautiful and functional...Hi Simone!
ОтветитьThat Tanos System looks perfectly balanced, as all things should be. :P
ОтветитьMore of both you, all of the time please! Stagnant:static::fresh:dynamic
Ответитьshop is too small... weeeeell. you DO have experiance with building houses and you own that parcel in USA.... ;P
ОтветитьI notice that you have your drawers still labeled in German. Are you planning to ever settle to the statement that mentions something like “In a country, do as they do!” I chose to obey that regarding my labeling — only in English, while on this side of the ocean. Although I recently noticed that I still don’t count my weight lifting (1 to 20) in English… Maybe I would, if I stopped doing it with my eyes closed?
ОтветитьPlease don't get a CNC, we want more reasons for you to visit Simone and build together :)
Ответитьplease learn to roll electric cords, air lines, ropes, etc in a figure-8. Using a figure-8 they absolutely will not tangle. With a climbing rope figure-8 winding will save your life. With electric cords, air hoses etc; figure-8 winding will save your sanity - well, whatever sanity you still have.
ОтветитьWait, wtf is in the “blech” container?!
Ответить👍
Ответитьno sabia que te comías.
ОтветитьYou know, I think I would want to put metal collars on those holes to be drilled, so that you’re not drilling out the template.
ОтветитьAnd on the through bolts, I’d want to countersink the heads on the outside, so that each side of each unit is flush with its the others.
That is, unless you can figure out a way to bolt all the way through for both sides. Which maybe you did?
So good! I love your system!
ОтветитьI love your KC hat!!!
ОтветитьI'm so excited that SolidWorks is working with you! I was just getting ready to pull the trigger. I'm buying their maker license and now I can support you at the same time. Win win!
ОтветитьNot stagnant. Finite.
ОтветитьGood Job and stressfree music.😊👍
ОтветитьFor about 34 years I’ve obsessively reinvented my organizational systems and processes to improve my productivity, trying manage many different tool chains, materials, disciplines, and my chaotic mind. I always wanted all things at my disposal, quick to find at any moment. Recently I gave up that requirement, now I have a small subset of things I need frequently and immediately, I keep that as small and simple as possible. That can be changed as required. The bulk of stuff I keep stored away. Instead of having an index of thousands of parts or tools, organized like a library, i keep my organization system minimal, putting like-things together intuitively, in boxes. On the occasion that I need a specific part, it’s fine to sort thru that box and find it. I don’t need that part every day. I’ve been overthinking and overengineering my work processes for most of my life, I think I’ve finally tamed the chaos. Anyway I also love how Laura thinks and solves problems like this. It makes such a difference to do all this with such artistry. A workshop can be a work of art in itself.
ОтветитьWell, it's the fiirst time in YEARS that I feel like the sponsor is reducing the quality of the video. I'm pretty sure that without Solidworks requiring CNC job, Laura would have find another solution much more faithful to her philosophy (wooden spacers, router template, ...) Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that sponsors offer me Laura's video for free, but that one is different. I really hope it was just an odd one, and that she'll find sponsors closer to her universe.
ОтветитьA sister for a sister for a sister.
ОтветитьAlways here for the Simone Giertz crossover episodes. Loved the build montage too. For those who, like me, really liked the music during the montage, the song is "Give You Up" by Daniel Fridell & Sven Lindvall.
Ответить"Friends with Digital Fabrication Benefits" is probably a shirt.
ОтветитьHoly crap that's messy
ОтветитьThe lengths you will go to to not measure stuff!
I remember the first time I saw you on YT was when Simone first visited your shop in Germany. Was an immediate subscribe and I'm so pleased that you and she have an enduring friendship.
That is a good system for your system. Templates are awesome.
ОтветитьGenial 😃 Und ein Video mit Simone, das Raabe & Kampf Comeback mit Mel - ich bin super happy 😁
Ответитьok: but what's the name of these (Plastic) Rails? Home-Grown, can you 3D-print them or just buy from Festool (which country, Part-#)? thanks for that info that I wasn't able to find ....
Ответить
