Bathory - Nordland I (Full Album)

I feel the power coursing through my veins this album has power no doubt about that one. I feel like i finally found my home.

Bathory didn't invent black metal, but it improved it to the format that was world-wide by dozens of bands in the 80's after Slayer in 1983. In 1984 in the first wave of black metal, Bathory was the band that was ahead of all, the bands that emerged from August 1984 onwards by accessing the Scandinavian Metal Attack compilation and marveling at the complete album released in October of the same year.

Years later it was the first band to give the world the theme "Viking metal", as other bands even addressed the subject, but not so deeply with Bathory.

It's a shame Quorthon passed away in 2004, because if he were alive today, we would certainly have excellent material available. Greetings from Brazil!

I think Nordland I & II would make a good soundtrack for Vinland Saga. The atmosphere, the lyrics, and the theme is literally perfect. Might read the manga while listening to the albums

I remember ordering this album on Amazon in 2004. I didn't even know Q had died. It was a truly surreal experience for the first time in my metal career getting to hear a brand new Bathory release, and then finding out there was infact a Nordland II to follow my enjoyment of I. The funny thing is, when I found out Q had passed - it didn't hurt. I was so proud of how far his career had gone in such a short time, and I was so grateful for the experience of enjoying this album, that I couldn't help but feel at peace with the news.

Not only do I consider this album underrated, but it's my favourite Bathory album. In my opinion, every track except Broken Sword is A+.
