Does it ever wind backwards by itself for you? I wind it up even less than recommended, and it’ll start ticking. When I try to wind more it rolls back against me. I’m only getting like 24 hrs out of it. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks a bunch 👍
Outstanding review, thank you. Video helped a lot .
ОтветитьAlmost perfect, no need for the number from 13-24. We all know how to convert to military time. HOOAH !
Ответитьeverything seems right but the gappy lugs, it's what keeps me from buying this watch as I prefer classic leather straps to NATO straps
ОтветитьLove the narration; thoughtful, knowledgeable and articulate. The bronze version of this is tantalizing. The brushed steel is so versatile. Would love to see a review of Serica
ОтветитьWish you can also use the brown tropical version wih different straps. It‘s a dilemma choosing which color of dial I want to get! They’re all so nice in their own way. 😂
ОтветитьRead about the winding system breaking pretty fast. Anyone who has experience with this?
ОтветитьPointless to have the 24hr readings..
ОтветитьI’m getting the 80hr power reserve one on Saturday 😄
ОтветитьLove my white dial Hamilton. Just be aware that the lug to lug length is long for those with a wrist size of under 7 inches.
ОтветитьWhy can't Hamilton place that watch face on it's quartz khaki???
Ответитьgreat VFM, but i opted for the CWC
ОтветитьI just got this watch. I’m wondering how many winds to get a full charge or how do I know when to stop winding? Thanks.
Ответитьthere is an automatic version of this watch which i find should have a screw down crown as it's an automatic it baffles me why they didn't do that as for this version of the watch the screw down crown would be useless as its treads would ware down quick as you have to screw and unscrew to wind it up i do wish a version of the automatic comes out where it has a screw down crown but that is just a fariytail
ОтветитьRecently picked up the Hamilton Khaki Field mechanical watch with date function.. I picked the olive green dial as at times the dial looks black, other times grey, and other times olive green. One of best “value” watch out there. Hard to find a better watch at this price point!
ОтветитьAnyone know of two-piece straps that are a little thicker (bulkier) at the top that can take up a little of that space between the spring bars and the case? I've wanted one of these since I had a Timex Camper back in the day. But if there's too much of a gap, it might not do it for me. I don't want to be limited to Nato straps. Any suggestions?
ОтветитьFaux lume... I'd just call it a nice warm lume
ОтветитьHis videos are like a robot speaking. Without soul, but....freaking interesting, knowledgeful, and awesome!
ОтветитьWill this watch hold up skiing?
ОтветитьWhy anyone would spend over $4000 for an IWC Mark XVIII is beyond me...
ОтветитьWife just got me the white dial! It’s magnificent!
ОтветитьPlease send me a khaki field watch. Thank you. Help me god will bless you.
ОтветитьA screw-down crown completely defies the point of the field watch.
ОтветитьI love mine. I have a Barton Alligator leather strap on it. For my budget this is a top end watch so it remains a low maintenance dress watch. No batteries, all class. Super simple.
ОтветитьI just received my 1966 benrus 3818B
Yesterday in the mail!! Super excited!!
been showering with mine by accident many times, no problems so far. for authenticity i understand field watches never had a high water resistance but then again if they give it a new modern movement with 80 hours power reserve, i see no reason to not make it 10 bar. BUT a screw down crown is no good idea for a mechanical watch. ... at the end for me 5atm seems ok.
ОтветитьI've had the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical for about 6 months now, and it's one of the best watches I've owned. Mine keeps excellent time, gaining about 15 seconds in 6 weeks! I love it!
Ответить42 hours power reserve or 80 hours? It says 80 in hamilton web with H-50 movement....
ОтветитьYou didn't explicitly mention the lugs are excessively long, in line with the previous khaki manual wind case, until the very end and only very briefly, which makes normal straps look odd with too big a gap between the strap and the tops and bottoms of the case; and NATOs or Rhinos are the only choice that get away with it which make the watch ride off the wrist by a few mm making it top heavy and thicker; as opposed to the Khaki Auto case which is much better proportioned.
ОтветитьJust got this with the ETA 2801-2. Took some looking. I don’t like the H-50 on the newer ones.
ОтветитьJust ordered this watch with the H-50 movement I’ve heard of some problems , do you think I will be OK with it ? Thanks
Ответитьgot a Vincero ad before the video started...
ОтветитьThe Winstone is really nice... but... no option for brushed (or blasted) hardware to match the Khaki
ОтветитьI have the Hamilton field automatic 38 mm and love it.
ОтветитьNo way should a non dive watch have a screw down crown, not unless they put real effort to make it durable, but not on a hand-winding only watch. Scale should change ratios for some parts that's true, you don't just scale up a watch case but still this watch should have been made at 36 or 37 mm.
Ответитьhi, Is it only come in 38mm ?
ОтветитьGreat video! Super informative and perfect pace. Thank you!
ОтветитьI know I'm going to get flack for this but here goes: save yourself 100s of £$ and buy a Timex Expedition Scout. And you get an indigo dial to boot! This is vanity - give the difference to charity - trust me you'll feel better
ОтветитьYou don't need a screw down crown to keep water out, this myth has just spread like wildfire. And why the hell would you want it on a hand winder?
ОтветитьIt's too bad Hamilton doesn't make their minute markers more like this on their other watches where they use that ugly subdivided scale. And that's "pierced-lugs", not "drilled-lugs".
ОтветитьIs YFV 316 YZN the serial numbers?
ОтветитьThis is an 80hr power reserve not 42
ОтветитьIt's available for £260 in the UK from Ernest Jones at the moment (June 10th 2019), bargain imho
ОтветитьMy God... what a beautiful watch.
ОтветитьNotice the new khaki field 2019 has 80 hours power reserve, are they still 28,000+v?
ОтветитьI have the date version and even though I would prefer no date I absolutely love this watch. What a joy to be able to interact with my watch everyday when I wind it. The truth is I bought it because it was a manual wind and everything else that is great about this watch is just icing on the cake. Thanks for the great vid.
ОтветитьHad the grandfather of this watch in the Marines in the late 60s/early 70s. Sold it... dumb move. Now nearly 50 years later bought this watch... and is the same in every way, just beautifully evolved. 38mm instead of the 34mm case on the original Hamilton... but same movement (but better) and same classically functional design. ETA 2801 movement, keeps very accurate time, hacking feature..... Highly recommended.
