About Chris Cornell, I was amazed to find out who he said his inspiration was and who he emulated when he first started singing. It was Ronnie James Dio. But after listening to both of them now I can see it and definitely hear it. Not the tone as much as the style.

I always thought Collective Soul was more tolerable than most of the anguish rock that was prevalent in their era. Played a gig once and after soundcheck this guy comes up to us and goes, "Nice job. Sounded great. We're playing here tomorrow night" I said "Thanks, man. What's your band called?" and he goes "Collective Soul!" I went "Oh, wow" 😆 It was the main guy that sings and he was really nice. He even came to our show that night.

I have a question for Steve:
I've also been a roads dog traveling musician for40+ years, and I always warn the young musicians that this is a dangerous business. I've lost friends to substance issues, crashing on the way home, the smoky environments we dealt with for years, etc. What advice would you have, for navigating the risks we had to take?

Huge fan but afraid,. I hear Steve talk constantly about hating being recognized or approached by fans. Yet in other cast I hear him say he's a fan boy sometimes and approaches celebrities like Stallone for example. If I see Steve in the wild should I stay away or say, big fan Love ya Steve. lol
