Why in the English Caribbean Islands there are NO indigenous natives and in the Spanish Caribbean islands there are? Why in Australia and New Zealand there are NO indigenous natives and in the Philippines there are? Why in the states of the USA with English name there are NO indigenous natives and in the states of USA with Spanish name there are?

Maybe so, but I don't think the overestimation of the dead from the 9/11 attack governed the US's response. I think the populace at large was almost crazed with outrage that anyone dared to attack US civilians on home soil. Only severe military ferocity could match what was in people's hearts. The attack on the Pentagon was barely covered. Probably the Pentagon wanted it that way. I think for the Bush administration it was an opportunity to settle an old grudge.

It wasn't a Black Legend, it was true. Jews, Protestants and others were tortured and murdered by the Spanish Catholics. That is historical reality.

What fascinates me is the entropic nature of atrocities when the realisation was deemed an act of evil ? I guess Christian empathy changed how those in power reflect on acts of organised violence in terms of numbers , morality, and guilt of God's judgment on those involved . It bears mentioning that one of the reasons why early modern Spain had such a high Jewish population was because they had migrated there following exile from almost all other western European kingdoms/cities. It's quite hypocritical then that in the black legend only Spain seems to be remembered for the expulsion of the Jews in 1492. This also invalidates the speakers claim that this was the precursor to modern anti-semitism. Indeed you could argue that Spain was the last medieval kingdom to expel the jews, not the first.
