Hey man, YES I am right now in the same situation. For past week playing FM24 from morning till early morning(on sick leave). Yesterday played till 3 am woke up 7 am. Visit to mcd, visit to doctor and get back to FM. Been playing FM from the legend CM 01-02. Started somewhere around 2002, 2003.

Best ever regen I had was in FM09 or something -- not at all technically gifted, pretty average physically but he was the smartest player in the world bar none. Every mental stat outside aggression and flair was 16, most 18 it was nuts.

Thanks to game pass I started playing fm23 and boy did it scratch the manager itch that fifa just can't, seeing the players I sign succeed or fail makes me more attached that I'd like to admit.

TLDR? Blablablaaaa, Portugal, the greatest country of all, blablabla...

I disocvered FM in 2021 when pandemics still there. My first team was Hizbul Wathan in Indonesian Liga 2 (irl they relegated last year sadly). It feels really hard to get detached from this game because I occasionally play it. Now I'm still playing 21 with the same club alongside 23 (with 1860 München)

My favorite save I've done in FM was actually in Championship Manager 01-02 with Rushden and Diamonds... I lost half of my players due to release clauses but I got to the Prem right before I lost the save.

I haven't played FM in a while, but I will never forget this moment in FM 12: Was managing the spanish team in the 2014 world cup and used a regen 18-year-old named Javier Perez as backup to David Villa. Was 2-1 up at the 88th minute in the semi-finals against Italy when we conceded a corner. Italy sent its GK forward to try and get the equaliser. My defenders got the ball out to substitute Javier Perez, who beat a defender at the halfway line and then shot at the open goal from just past the halfway line... And it went in. It was magical... I saved a copy of the replay video somewhere but I think I lost it when my old computer died.

I've since moved on to other things and I don't see myself playing FM anymore (I've lost most of my interest in Football as well). But this memory will always bring back nostalgia.

My proudest moment in fm is when I bought a Brazilian wonder kid for £69 million. In his first 17 games he scored 2 goals and was looking like a flop. I debated cutting my loses and finding a new striker but in the second half of the season he kicked on scoring 15 goals in 13 matches saving me from relegation and he became the striker I knew he’d be. I then sold him a couple seasons later for over £150 mil

I started playing FM this year. The thing that I love the most is that you can actually change the course of history. If you play well and handle finances well, you can turn your club and league into the best in the world

You get the fifa and fm part so accurate. None of you probably know who stiven shpendi or rodrigo Neri are. I had a coruña save where I had to win the treble, LaLiga, CL and copa del ray. Did it and Rodrigo Neri who has league one potential win 2 ballon dors and 4 golden boots in the 5 years I had him in the challenge. I got shpendi before him and he was amazing and helped us make our first CL. They had the best striker partnership but we had to sell him because we got such a good offer, got neri for 4 mil and shpendi for under 3 million I don’t remember exactly and sold shpendi to OL for 40 million which helped me build up the rest of the squad

I've never played FM I just happened to see this video on recommendations and now I'm thinking of playing FM for real. Tired of FIFA and their money scheme and lack of understanding towards the playerbase.

Never played football manager but recently realised I enjoyed the non-gameplay aspects of FIFA and being very detail orientated and liking to build squads and progress over time FM seems perfect
For people more in the loop, should I wait for the new FM in like November or get FM23 now on sale?

As an American just getting into soc- football I’m looking for a good game to get into that isn’t FIFA because I don’t have $70 to spend on EA. I kinda want a more casual manager experience than what Football Manager seems to be, so if anyone has suggestions they would be much appreciated!

In fm23 I Started a new save with Real Sociedad. Nurtured Umar Sadiq who I thought stats wise was the best striker on the team (irl he's their second or 3rd choice striker) 1 season later and a UCL qualification in the bag, my boy Sadiq bagged 49 goals that season. 36 league goals in 36 games. Won golden boot, most goals in Europe and won African Footballer of the year. I now have a deep emotional connection to a random Nigerian striker playing in Spain thousands of kms away.
FM is goated.

I reached the champions league final in 2033 on my Journeyman save with Barcelona for the first time, forgot to set up corners and Bayern Münich scored 3 goals from corners. We lost 3-2.

CM 03/04. Nothing beats it.

I've played NBA games throughout my childhood and youth whether it was live pre2010 or 2k after. I recently started playing football manager here and there after starting to watch European leagues. I can only dream of a basketball game with as detailed of a match simulation as fm, let alone all the actual management aspects. Then there's the global leagues, national teams, affiliate teams, dynamics. Just absolutely mind-blown coming from 2k.

I had a save with Man City and was using Foden on the left wing as an IW. He did not get a lot of goals despite many chances and I was dumfounded. Well, after a whole season i realized he was a lefty lol. I had already bought Sane for the right wing and decide to star over. Btw, I watched this vid while playing FM. I'm currently managing Santos in Brazil, started unemployed and I'm planing on leaving this season for an European club either in Portugal or The Netherlands first divisions. I also plan un buying a few players for Santos if I have the budget to do so.

played for singapore league ,woodlands wellington, went all the way to win the asian champions league, with a singaporean striker at 200 goals. never reach that kind of high every since.

I play regularly online with 11 other lads. Set schedules we all jump on and play. No downloaded tactics or any other naughty tricks, just straight up skill :P

I used to play Fifa. However, I’m a Nintendo player so you most likely know how they’ve been doing us over here , year after year, LEGACY! 😤 lol. I picked up FM about two years ago. Never looked back at Fifa ever again. It really is an addicting game. There’s been times where it’s passed midnight and all of a sudden I’m reminded that I forgot to send my scouts out, or that my injured player is still under HEAVY training 😅 And then the sun is up and I realize that I busted an all nighter , AGAIN!

I did the classic FGR save on FM 15 from the old conference too the champions League. Since then ive honestly not done much. Banbury United too the Championship in FM22 and Dover Athletic too the Premier League this year are the other 2 highlights
