@remyleloup Thanks Remy, we could probably make 10x videos on this monstrous workhorse- this box is truly amazing. We will release 1-2 more videos about it- there is way too much to fit into a single video, that's for sure!
ОтветитьHi, pardon my ignorance but is the benefit to record silently into Pro Tools or other recording device and then re amp the recording through the Scorpion or other great amp which is then recorded to produce a "live" recording at volume ???? Am I missing something because wouldnt it be simpler to just plug into the amp and record it as is? or will the eq on the TD-1 provide wider tone shaping options? Baffled but curious I have a Scorpion which drew me here Thanks for your time
Ответить@ham60 There are a lot of benefits that include, choosing the guitar tone that you want for the mix, later in the game (after tracking the DI signal), Creating interesting tonal blends using one or more amp settings. Experimenting with mic positioning, editing/perfecting the DI signal without worrying about recording the amp, tracking in 1 point in time recording at another time/place, preserving the possibility of changing the guitar tone you've recorded later, tweak the amp while playing audio
ОтветитьThanks for the info I googled /researched it so now makes sense to me I see it can accept the direct signal from an amp which i hadnt realised Impressive piece of gear Thanks again for the info All the best
Ответить@ham60 It's our pleasure, this is definitely an incredible piece of gear. If you ever have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact us- for the fastest response you can reach us at sales(at)soundpure(dot)com, or call +1 919-682-5552. We'd love to assist you with your next upgrade be it guitar, recording, or re-amping related!
Ответить@getawhatwhat1 Thanks for the comment, we enjoy participating with questions like these. We didn't have the impression that you did at all in that the tonal qualities retained by the TD-1 were excellent.. the sonic capabilities in post production are truly endless when you reamp... the sound you get is entirely dependent on the amp choices you make after the guitar performance has already occurred- a very cool thing in a lot of situations where the guitars can't be in front of the amp.
Ответитьare there any similiar devices anyone knows work good, other then $1400 piecies of gear
Ответить@metalupyourass9 If you are just looking for something to handle the re-amping portion, yes. We can discuss what is out there... that being said, this Millennia box does a whole lot more than just reamp. We can point you in the right direction for sure... wanna give us a shout by phone?
Ответить@scorpiogod1 That is absolutely perfect advice! In this case its irrelevant but great advice none the less. A DAW can't work as a mic-pre, a DAW can't work as a Direct Injection system, nor can a DAW function as a re-amp unit If for some reason you were thinking that re-amping can be replaced by "amp sims" - that would be very unfortunate. It would kind of be like saying real women have become irrelevant due to the advent of internet porn I think we both know that's ridiculous
Ответить@scorpiogod1 I agree, a reamp box is useless. A basic sound card can do it.
Ответить@Metalud0 A sound card is needed get audio in and out of your computer, a re-amp box will take the low impedance signal put out by the sound card and convert it to a high impedance signal suitable for playing through an insrument amplifier. You need both tools [sound card & re-amp box] to "re-amp" an instrument. There are many times in our studio where we run sounds through a Leslie speaker, again, both a sound card and re-amp unit are necessary for this.
Ответить@soundpurestudios A reampbox is sometimes needed, but usually, if we have recorded the correct DI track and adjusted the out level carefully, a reampbox is no required. it works on my modest home studio. with a basic tube amp and a usb sound card. My sound is the same as if i have pluged my guitar in my amp. The fact is that i can simulate and correct the lake of impedance right on the out of my sound card. The signal became suitable to attack an amplifier.
Ответить@Metalud0 Glad to hear that's working out for you!! I've never had that experience, but if you have, that's great. Can't argue with success... no matter how its achieved!!
Ответить@soundpurestudios I'm not the only one. Many other who reamped like me didn't have any problem. But few of them get the noise :/. I think it depends of the amplifier, but i'm not sure.
Ответить@Metalud0 We run a professional [commercial] recording facility here. In our situation we can't be spending the clients time [money] trying to kludge something off a soundcard - we need to set up a "re-amp" quickly, efficiently, so it will work everytime without question. In a home studio working environment you're the client. You can spend your time as you wish, so if sending the signal from the sound card works for you - fantastic. I'm glad to hear it works for you, its not practical here.
ОтветитьGreat piece of gear! I just don't like the distorted tone, it sounds nasty. Perhaps is the amp which has a great clean sound. But this unit has amazing features.
ОтветитьDon't think Malcolm ever used that much distortion. Fantastic channel-strip nonetheless — and great video as usual. This unit is great for more then electric guitars, Had one in my studio today and ran Bass into the DI and got an amazingly huge tone right off. Reamped some sterile Midi VI's (Rhodes, Clav and strings) and the speaker soak brought them to life. Really a great piece of gear. Now I want to try the origin.
Ответитьthat some of the awfullest guitar sounds ive heard! and ive been recording guitars for over 40 years!
Ответитьhi, thanks for the video. If I can use reamping for mastering purposes? I have 2 Millenia’s. I thought to run the mix from pro tools , to Td-1 and to record it back to pro tools. if it can be possible?
