To not in the morning my husband is Hispanic and was almost killed by a police officer when he was a preteen. Does his life not matter? I love him very much and it would matter as he is all i have. I have worked in nursing for 45 yrs and have seen a lot of death and all life mattets.

It's odd how the protest AGAINST racism has a lot of people with complaints about white people.

As bad as systemic racism is, people need to understand that the key to eradicating racism has to come from within each individual. Racism is not something you can just policy or protest away. Racism exists within people. You can't make a person not be racist. People have to choose to not embrace racist paradigms. Just as racism is taught and embraced, it can be rejected through gaining understanding about others who are different. Racism is rooted in the fear of those who are different and in the ridiculous theory of white supremacy. Eradicating racism requires an ongoing effort by all people to gain knowledge, reject the irrational fear that governs people's behavior(i.e., stop rushing to assume the worst in people), and embrace the positive nature of humanity. It will not go away until people get active in that process.
