Rippa lives rent free in all these haters heads.
ОтветитьI read manga. A lot. The background just dissappears. Randomly 3D renders in a 2D art style. Some literally use pictures.
Ответитьthose morons who've got a problem with the Rippaverse/ISOM/ALPHACORE should've checked themselves before they wrecked emselves. There's nothing wrong with properly using pseudo 3D components in comic related projects like animation in this case Take the recent Moral Kombat animated movies that've been made in the last couple of years i.e. Scorpion's Revenge, Battle Of The Realms, Snow Blind and finally Johnny Cage every one of them feature psudo 3d or 2.5D graphics to make the characters & settings have a ultra natural look n feel just like the recent animated series Blue Eye Samurai. How do these brainlets suppose anime from the 70s, 80s, 90s up to the mid 2000s were created to feature intricate detailed characters along with their rendered settings even with the limitations of technology at the time it was all done using translucent sheets overlays which provided a lot of create freedom for the artists to produce many of the most unforgettable anime titles we old time otakus still watch to this day like legacy of Yoshiaki Kawajiri master pieces Ninja Scroll or Cyber City 808 OEDO.
ОтветитьNon-creatives picking apart an artist's process is dumb.
ОтветитьThere is only one thing WORSE than being talked about... And that is NOT being talked about.
-Oscar Wilde.
BIDNESS!
Ответить👍
ОтветитьWhat's your opinion on the City of Heroes server, Homecoming, getting some funding from NCSoft?
ОтветитьI'm really disappointed in Ethan. I know he's better than this.
ОтветитьPpl bring up legit and valid criticism and we get response. Shit like this is why I bailed. Respect the customers ? If DC or marvel did this y’all would be on fire!
ОтветитьI dont know Rip... Im seeing some very convincing counters to the things ur saying... And u could say that i dont know wat im talking about, but then again someone could say the same about u, and in fact they are saying that...
ОтветитьWhat's really sad about all this is that the haterism and cuckery is coming from other, now independent creators, who have gone through this same level of hate and attempted sabotage at the hands of the big two when they broke away from them and out on their own. So, you would think they, knowing what it feels like to have this done to them, wouldn't do it someone else, but hater hoes are gon be hater hoes, even once respectable EVS and Comicsgate. Sad. Smh.
ОтветитьI knew this was a non-issue but I hadn't realized just how disingenuous the whole thing was. Why do these people need Eric to be the villain?
ОтветитьNot hating on Richards but Bennett is far better. Far better.
ОтветитьI have enjoyed the story and art in both Isom books. I don't care what resources the artists used.
ОтветитьIt's good that you're accepting this badge of honor with grace, Eric. Ethan as a pest can be made useful in that he will seek out your vulnerabilities. He wants to fight on the visual art battleground, where he is strongest. But his opinions can't be taken as representative of most pro artists, because quite frankly most pros would use the R word to describe Ethan's general approach to working practices. Even he would probably admit he's a complete oddball with an utterly bizarre approach to comic production. But even besides that, he's admitted to literal tracing of advertising photography for his Heather Swain drawings, which is worse than using 3D models.
ОтветитьI found this video extremely interesting and educational. When you’re unaware of the different jobs, skills, and techniques of any business that the customer is not in themselves.
Thank you Mr. July and the Rippaverse team from a decaded confirmed customer.
So many people are trying to say Cliff Richards used 3D modeling in his books and didn't draw any of it at all.... The level of desperation, cope and dishonesty that comes from these idiots. 🙄 Cliff Richards used 3D references for a few things, big deal, Alex Ross does the same exact thing.... Why is it only a bad thing when Eric allows it? Sheesh 🤦
ОтветитьHoly shit! Never knew artists did tracing in such a way! I have considered a similar method by using tracing paper to create an armour blueprint for my character... Makes me glad i had a good idea in the first place
ОтветитьI kind of just assume artists are tracing things whenever possible, especially on dense work like comics. Free handing is hard and frankly unnecessary, why gimp yourself with it? If the end product is good then so be it. I highly doubt someone would get mad at a carpenter because he went out and bought jigs to help him square up a cabinet.
ОтветитьWould I be in the wrong if I trace poses from characters? because I have difficulty making dynamic poses and do my best to change a few aspects such as putting a leg or arm in a different position
ОтветитьOk
ОтветитьEVS: 3D Assets are company standard nowadays. 🥴
He must have forgotten he said that on a live stream.
What I'm hearing is pretty absurd.
ОтветитьArtists are fickle people I find. If it looks good, i honestly don't care. My money is what matters, if your art makes me wanna buy it- you won.
Ответить“Wash your ass!”
ОтветитьI mean, it makes total sense to use 3D assets for backgrounds and props. Much easier for perspective and save some time on trivial objects to populate the scene.
1000% non-issue. It doesn't say ANYTHING about the quality or legitimacy of the work whatsoever. Actually, if quality isn't impacted it's smart af from the artist to use a wide array of tools.
t. art director in the game industry
I don't care if there are created stock elements used as background filler, so long as the stock elements are of the same style or quality as the foreground art. It's nice if an artist involved in the project creates their own background stock, but it's not essential. The entire purpose of a successful comic is the combination of a great story and great art. The Rippaverse provides that, in my opinion, and provides that better than the big Deuce of legacy comics, Marvel and DC, have for decades. If whiny hatebots are having to focus on non-issues to spew at Rippaverse that just shows how great the Rippaverse is.
Pick up something from Rippaverse and drop the Deuce. And yeah, I refer to Marvel & DC in that way on purpose, because they have been excelling at just putting out crap for too long.
So many top manga and comics use 3d backgrounds to save time. Backgrounds take more time to create than the characters. Also referencing
ОтветитьI think the problem with the 3D assets is how lazily they were traced. You can still see the polygons on wheels and anything round. That's lazy.
ОтветитьI mean using FREE 3-d assets kind of diminishes the product dont you think? 35 dollar comic. People expect hand crafted top tier stuff I would imagine. The artist used some of those very assets in other non Isom comics too.
ОтветитьLet them complain, they'll be less of a threat if they're not providing actual competition.
ОтветитьSome of Disney's old animated movies used a technique called rotoscoping where they would film a real actor/actress and then animate over the film. Remember the unnaturally fluid and realistic animation of the Blue Fairy in the original Pinocchio? Yeah, that was a real actress. Her name was Evelyn Venable. They had her actually act out the part of the Fairy, then animated over the footage.
So I guess Disney was lazy too. Sure, Pinocchio is considered a timeless classic, but they TRACED AN ASSET! It must now be scorned.
As the old saying goes, work smarter not harder.
And considering it took these guys (including the great professional artist EVS) about a year to even notice this detail about a random truck in the background their clearly not working very smart or hard with their criticisms.
Some of your detractors are "weirdoes." But not the king of comicsgate. EVS is not some no-name weirdo. Lost a lot of cred with that. Should have stuck with EVS not Yellow Flash. Yellow uses freaking ai man.
ОтветитьTo all the people bitching about Cliff Richards art style and the way he does it, (using references) get over it. 🙄 He didn't Trace over anything, Most of us could really care less how you feel about that narrative, most of us enjoyed the art, and there are plenty of other companies that do the same thing and we're not going to get outraged over all this because you guys want to create a mountain out of a molehill....go buy from someone else if you REALLY don't like it. 😜 Try as you may, you're not going to drive anybody away that wasn't already against this company to begin with, and we could really care less if you don't like it. And stop bitching about the original price as well, no one cares, and I think you're more angry about the fact no one DOES than anything else.
ОтветитьAnd to the people who are already lying about Yellow Flash's book (more specifically about the art style)....just don't. It's not even out yet and already you clowns are making up CRAP about it 🙄
ОтветитьThe 3d model use is obvious imo, muscle definition and position looks off. hate seeing it in mainstream comics too, comics and posters are two different things
ОтветитьTracing/using references/light boxing/etc. Has ALWAYS been an aspect of the craft.
Anyone claiming differently is a liar.
OMG we have Ass/et gate! How can Rippaverse recover? How can comics recover? Oh wait this is a another nuthin burger as usual by drama farmers.
ОтветитьFake Geek Gangsta
ОтветитьSo now they are trying to get down into an artist’s technique to criticize?! Get a life. As long as it looks awesome, I don’t rightly care. Go, Rippaverse!
ОтветитьFull circle, a number of channels grew on the backs of Marvel & DC and now channels are growing on the back of Rippaverse.
ОтветитьAs a consumer and customer I don’t care just give me the finished work.
ОтветитьYa. But the WHOLE book is 3d assets. Not just buildings and cars, furniture. The figures themselves are. Nothing was drawn by hand. Its basically AI generated. Its not worth 35$
ОтветитьI'm a little late to comment on this, but if I was Cliff Richards I would have sued the person responsible starting this whole drama about tracing by saying that's not what he did by now. They're trying to say that he dragged and dropped the images news from an app on the computer onto the comic with absolutely zero conclusive evidence. Cliff Richards is a better person than me because if they did that to me they would be in a courtroom in front of a judge on a slander lawsuit.
ОтветитьIt was recently discovered that EVS is allowing his artist to use stock photos for the background textures.
ОтветитьAs an artist, you use different methods to create your work. There is nothing wrong with that.
ОтветитьShoutout to fans!
My apologies for boring you with non issues!
