ОтветитьWalking or slow running backwards up quite steep inclines/hills is especially brilliant for many reasons that'll soon become obvious as you get used to it and find you can't live without it(possibly literally!!).
I try to do it outside on public paths in low-traffic areas either barefoot or almost barefoot(in the woods ! ) - wearing just old-ish socks that are starting to wear out.
To avoid falling over, beginners should focus on raising their heels higher than normal as they heave each leg backwards at the end of every stride or retro-stride - just before the foot touches the ground.
And retro-walking-jogging-running also uses significantly more energy/calories than "normal" boring non-retro walking-jogging-running.
The list of benefits is very long indeed. Of course, top football/soccer players etc have been doing it in long serried lines on training grounds for many many decades...

I walk backwards at the gym.
Ответитьis reversing the direction on the elliptical the same motion as backwards walking?

ОтветитьIf I run backwards fast enough, can I go back to the 1970’s, when my knees, life in general and music were sooooo much better.
ОтветитьAmazing
ОтветитьIF, IF, you fall walking backwards your arms will not be able to protect your head as it hits the ground like a melon. Think about it. Ouch. 👍👍👍. 6-10-2023
ОтветитьI did notice that walking backwards removed the slight pain I feel when walking forward, I will be doing this at home and if walking on a deserted park 😂
ОтветитьI am 70 and have been walking backwards for the past year. My hips and knees hurt so bad at one time that I could not lay down comfortably to sleep. Within three days of backwards walking I had no more pain when I laid down at night. I walk to the local middle school field and walk around the track. People sometimes ask me why I am doing it so I tell them. Another thing I use is an ointment called "Rub on Relief" by Living Well.
ОтветитьIve been doing this it realy does help .
ОтветитьBut walking into a Bus is probably not good for arthritis
ОтветитьI have knee pain in both knees. Will give it a go

ОтветитьThank you. Great content in a short, concise video. I didn't have to endure 25 minutes of jabber to distill 4 minutes of content. Straight to the point and very useful.
ОтветитьI can attest to this , ellipitical 15 minutes backwards , 15 minutes forward everyday and I get up the hiking trails with no knee or back problems
ОтветитьCareful, walk backwards on grass not on metalled or paved roads. People tend to lose balance and fall backward. Hitting the back of the head with a fall on a hard surface may cause serious problems in old people.
Ответитьgood morning
ОтветитьWhat about exorcising backwards on elliptical or stationary biking? Can this too have a positive effect??
ОтветитьBackwards uphill is even better. Backwards uphill with farmers carry even better again.
ОтветитьMy hall is 5 feet wide and largely deserted. I can walk forward then backwards the hall length. I use a small mirror for backwards.

ОтветитьI try to walk 6 miles outside every other day, but it's been getting painful with my L3 back compression fracture, and back and knee arthritis. I recently started backward walking on the treadmill at my gym. I do 5-minutes of backward treadmill (dead mill) walking at the start of my weightlifting workout and 5-minutes at the end. I've been pleasantly surprised that my back and knee pains have diminished after my workouts. I wish I had started doing this years ago.
ОтветитьIs there any benefits to doing the farmers walk backwards?
ОтветитьI’d love to see some pool exercises.
ОтветитьGreat content! I recently started walking backwards and notice the relief on my joints. Plus definitely feels good to engage otherwise ignored muscles. Just subscribed, thanks!
