thanks for covering ISBN for publishing books but what if a person is selling used books on Amazon; can they use the ASIN from Amazon and still use the old ISBN?

I'm a bit confused with one thing that is in Amazon there is a book with different publisher, both books ISBN-10 matches but ISBN-13 doesn't and one of them doesn't have ASIN and the other one which has an ASIN which on converting gets matched with the ISBN-13 of the book, what does that mean ?

Hey, I'm trying to buy ISBN's through Bowker. Since I'm a new customer, they ask for my information. When it asks for "Company Name," what do I put? I don't have an LLC or anything like that.

I already published my own coffee table book and had a run of 1500 LTD ED books (all the same but I sign and number each on inside fo book along with a letter of authenticity).
...I was told by the printer I coud always get the isbn or barcode later but now I see I ca'nt apply to amazon seller without that info!!

So if amazon gave me one ISBN i# would that be for all 1500 books that are the same?

Hi, I published a book on Amazon and was given a free ISBN number. I didn't realize that you can not have your books sold through another distributor (only Amazon) if you get the free ISBN number from Amazon. So I have unpublished my book,(it was only published for a few weeks). I am going to buy an ISBN number and republish/reprint through Amazon. My question is - does this go as a second edition now?

Hey Julie! So I have books on Amazon with their free ASIN. Now I want to sell the same books on Shopify via Lulu. As far as I understand from your video, I have no right to sell these books anywhere but Amazon because of the Amazon free ASIN. Or can I sell them under a different ISBN?

Very informative. But I have another question.. I engaged a professional to edit material for paperback publishing. He insists to get ISBN number from me before he edit it. He says he must put that number into the book during preparation. But when I researched how to get ISBN, I learned that I can get it very easily during filling the blank fields (in the book details or content) just after uploading the manuscript and cover. And what is the truth? Do I really have to provide him ISBN number or this will be automatically printed when my books got sold?

What? Are you sure about this? For the KDP main page description, you will see the ASIN number immediately near the listing book price. But, when you scroll down to "dimensions" description, the ISBN is listed.  It's an international number, it's real and it can't be taken back after being issued. They deliberately display the ASIN in eyeball sight, but still list the other. They cannot call it ISBN and it not be real. I'm sure Amazon issues it, while also taking portions of the print fees in return.

Thanks for the amazing video. I already decided to buy my own ISBN because I don't want any limitations or ties to Amazon. But I see Amazon offers a discount (99$) instead of the regular 125$ if you buy the Bowker ISBN through the KDP program. My question is: It is safe to get this option through Amazon? Is there any difference, other than the price? Will that count as my own ISBN or is there some trick here and Amazon will show as the publisher if I get this option? Please, help.

Hi Julie, So, if you get the free ISBN from Amazon KDP, that means you
won't be able to publish your book on IngramSpark and other publishing
platforms, correct? I would like to publish my children's book on Amazon
KDP and IngramSpark and I checked Bowker and they want you to get ISBN
and barcode and they're very expensive!!! I've been hearing so many
people and they said that its better to purchase your own ISBN because
you can publish your book anywhere you want and not get tied in one
platform like KDP. But if I purchase my own ISBN on Bowker that means I
also need to purchase a barcode that goes with the ISBN, right? But if
you just go for the free ISBN on Amazon KDP, the barcode is free too,
right? I am so confused and overwhelmed with so much information out

I have a question. I'm still debating whether or not I should select Expanded Distribution on KDP. If i want to publish my book to IngramSpark or any other platform along with KDP? should I select Expanded Distribution or not on KDP? Also, is it true that if you choose Expanded Distribution on KDP that you're not allowed to publish your ebook in other platforms other than KDP? Can you please clarify on this in plain language.
