"The Menendez brothers should be sending me flowers." THAT IS THE FUNNIEST FUCKIN JOKE I'VE EVER HEARD
Ответитьryan murphy is so gross. he portrays the brothers as gay, they aren’t gay, they went through awful things by their father.
ОтветитьRyan Murphy is a woke producer who has promoted demonic themes in nearly every show he’s worked on. He should be ignored.
ОтветитьI started watching the series thinking that the director was trying to tell THEIR story but I was wrong! Hearing that he had no intentions of even meeting with them let alone conversing with them is really sad and disappointing. Knowing that I will not be watching the rest of the series. I truly hope that they will be freed soon. Hats off to Kim K for reaching out to them and actually making an effort not for her own gain, also the actor who portrayed Erik I’m impressed and that’s how it should be when you are portraying a real person.
ОтветитьRyan Murphy is an incredibly talented guy. It’s a shame he’s got an attitude like this.
ОтветитьThis actually is upsetting. The Menendez brothers were horribly abused and this case had it happened in 2020 those boys WOULDN'T have seen a DAY OF JAIL. It's a shame...
ОтветитьSorry but maybe this isn’t popular belief, but they MURDERED their parents. Just because they were abused is not a reason to do this and yes in the 90s child abuse WAS a thing and lots of kids could tell teachers and get action taken so clearly at the time their “abuse” wasn’t considered abuse. Which perhaps at that time was probably more considered discipline. Now are the parents here to tell their side? No. Why? BECAUSE THEY’RE DEAD. These boys were monsters then and they are monsters for life. If you kill someone then that’s bottom line fact it’s illegal and they are in prison for that reason. That’s where they should stay, for life!
ОтветитьThis guy literally needs jail. How can you be like idgaf about the facts I wanted to make story and now that it’s successful everyone should kiss my deet
ОтветитьYou should do more research on the Menendez case bc you had things wrong about it.
1) Lyle & Erik did not organize the memorial. LIVE entertainment did & chose the song selection and they chose Milli Vanilli bc Jose liked them.
2) Lyle was never allowed to wear his toupee in jail or prison, except for when he had to be in court.
3. Anamaria is not the only person so describe Lyle as soft spoken.
Agreed, he was wrong
ОтветитьRyan Murphy is so twisted and degenerate all of his shows are gross feeling
ОтветитьAvoid Netflix
ОтветитьThey killed their parents in most horrific ways. I don’t think they should walk free anytime soon. Murder is still murder.
ОтветитьGOD BLESS
ОтветитьSay it with me guys in unison, FREE THE MENENDEZ BROTHERS NOW!
Ответить35 years is long enough for them to think about what they’ve done. It’s not likely they’ll continue to committing crimes once released. I don’t think anyone would look at that 35 years and think “hmm not long enough”
ОтветитьThis show would’ve been AMAZING if Ryan Murphy didn’t put a sick twist on it by them having a relationship. Like I don’t blame them if they do sue
ОтветитьMy husband and I tried to watch Monsters not really understanding how much about the sexual abuse was included. We could not watch it all the way through. It was awful.
ОтветитьI always thought this case stood out Ryan Murphy did not do anything special besides create a fantasy twist to it. It’s the same story nothing new.
ОтветитьRyan murphy 🤝 Sam Levinson
ОтветитьI feel like after everything that’s come out of Glee and these series, Ryan Murphy should just be exiled at this point.
ОтветитьHow come noone talks about how the Netflix show makes you feel sorry for the parents because before they died, they "weren't" planning on killing their kids and that they were in love again and were making a change. And not a living soul knows what they were planning or doing or even saying. It blows my mind that the TV show was making it seem like we know both sides when in realty, not a single soul does.
ОтветитьTHEY ARE GETTING RESENTENCED- JUST PRESENTED BY THE DA AT THIS AFTERNOONS PRESS CONFERENCE!!!!
ОтветитьRyan Murphy sounds like an opportunist. That’s Hollywood for you.
ОтветитьThis series in Netflix is “Pure Hollywood exploration” indeed.
Erik and Lyal have been @bused and suffered all their lives!
First, by their parents .
Now, with the incompetence of the Justice system
I started to feel quite sorry for the boys but i also listend now to Candace take, and she presended also a bit more of the story, their behavior after the murder. Now i feel different.
ОтветитьI do feel sorry for Lyle and Eric, but I don't want them out of prison.
ОтветитьShow the story from every possible angle, except for the accurate ones
ОтветитьPeople who lived through this trial know for a fact that these kids killed their parents in cold blood.the tick tock generation did not live the trial. If the father abused the kids why they killed their mother and went to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars after they killed them. They need to stay in jail, they are cold blooded murders
ОтветитьIf you compare the show to the documentary with the brother's own words & claims said in documentaries, most of the show is shockingly similar/the same. The show also takes you through an evolution of the characters as the story unfolds just like the trial, so by the end you sympathize with the brothers as victims. So I don't know what everyone's complaining about. It's true-- they are about to get set free and it's all due to the show gaining them attention again! And I'm sorry, but this segment of your podcast just ain't it-- it shows a lack of understanding on your part as a reporter. I thought it was a FANTASTIC show!
ОтветитьI know writers always take liberties when creating adaptations based on real life but in this case, when they're still alive in prison, and are hoping for parole and when such fictions still can effect them negatively it feels incredibly harmful and wrong for the creators of the show to choose to portray things incorrectly. they're alive, and it effects them in real ways. if they were decades dead, with no family left to be effected then purposeful inaccuracies wouldn't matter as much, but they do matter in this on going case because it effects them now, it effects their hope for parole and it revictimises and sensationalises them again.
ОтветитьI've read n seen so much about them because of the time they were trending on tiktok and how horrible I found the case. There's so much information that people either gloss over or just don't know. So many witnesses cooperated the fact they were traumatized and in an abusive household. Both parents were sick individuals, and a lot of evidence showed there were clear signs of abuse for years. This case makes me so mad because at the time the prosecution basically disrespected all male victims of s*xual abuse by saying they could not be r*ped. The details about what happened to them are truly sickening. I hope they're parents are in Hell. The brothers' have suffered since they were born, yet in jail they've done such good.
ОтветитьIt's truly messed up for them dealing with overcoming abuse, prison, and guilt. Years of s*xual and mental abuse, prison and then for a time they were plastered all over the internet many people trying to set them free, while many also s*xualised them. I saw a lot of that when I first read about them, videos where "supporters" went on and on about how they used to be so hot ect as if they weren't talking about survivors of s*xual abuse, as if s*xualising abuse survivors is acceptable. The way they've been plastered on the internet n in media must be so harmful to their mental health, their abuse talked about, questioned and sensationalised time and time again and this show is trying to make them "wild" and "attractive" to the audience. Real people's trauma is used to entertain, just like they did with the Dahmer adaptation. I'm sure in part this show will help their plea, but it will also bring them more judgment and pain. It's so common now to use real people's deaths and abuse as entertainment nowadays more and more. It's vile. There was a black mirror episode about it on bl**dy Netflix because they know it's wrong, but they know they get away with it, and audiences will just eat it up.
ОтветитьWhat happened is that he took the actual real life courtroom scene of Lyle admitting that as a child, he m**ested his brother Erik, once his own abuse from his father had started. However, I don’t believe that to be an ongoing thing, more just a young child thinking it was a normal thing to do with your family members. If you watch the first trial & Lyle’s testimony, he recounts it all there. I think Ryan Murphy dramatised this into some kind of continual in**st situation between the brothers, when that is not at all how they depicted it. It seems like Erik very much forgave Lyle, & they grew up with a normal brotherly bond (albeit trauma bond too), & didn’t want to be sent to different prisons, which they were for a long time, & then eventually reunited in the same one. Ryan is exceptionally talented, I like a lot of his shows, but what on earth was he thinking with this subject matter & response to it? That’s a lot more than just a “dramatised” topic. Pick a lane, Ryan.
ОтветитьIt was premeditated and they were grown adults when they did it. They could’ve left home and never spoken to their parents again, but then they wouldn’t get anymore of daddy’s money
ОтветитьKim Kardashian and her sisters are so annoying, always trying to be involved in something that has absolutely nothing to do with them for attention BORING😒
ОтветитьI'm from the left and frequently watch bretts videos because I like her energy and think it's important to listen to different ideas. I reluctantly clicked on this video thinking she'd take a conservative stance on this case (like candace has) , and that the comment section would be full of rage-fueled, uninformed people saying they lied about their abuse. So happy to find that I was wrong. The publics views on this case is becoming more and more unequivocal - they were failed by the justice system, so much about their trial was fucked.
ОтветитьI've been following the court trial for many hours. at one point I have some doubts especially with Lyle. he seems hesitant at certain things. these brothers were spoiled with daddy's money. Jose would send them to the best school, nice homes, nice clothes etc. when Lyle lawyer asked him why don't you just leave the house, go overseas to avoid SA. I thought he gonna say about the financial constraints but nah he said eventually his dad will find them in his leisure. I'm certain one of the reason the brothers don't have financial freedom to do so. everything was paid by his dad. when Lyle move to Princeton, he said the rent was expensive but his dad end up bought a condominium 💀 Lyle also said he's ok that his dad dictate his path, I guess he eventually get used to it. is this how old money family works 😐
ОтветитьI found the judge in the second trial discussing. Men can't be raped what an ass
ОтветитьThey SHOULD send him flowers. Yes they were horribly damaged by abuse, but they were GROWN adults when they murmured their parents, tried to cover it up, and went on spending sprees.
You want to get away from abuse as an adult, you cut off ties and support yourselves, you don’t commit murder and try and cover it up.
Because of Ryan Murphy they may actually be released now.
Lies will always be a bigger story than the truth to people who profit off it… Ryan Murphy is disgusting and should’ve been dropped by Netflix when he dismissed the victims’ families during the Dahmer pushback
ОтветитьI started to watch the series and I could NOT finish it
ОтветитьThese poor boys were failed by everyone. Since they were children, they were living and eating and drinking with the same people who made their lives hell. Then, they get sentenced to life in prison for simply defending themselves against criminals who stole their lives from them. Sometimes people don’t understand how horrific and traumatizing rape is. Now this isn’t just rape, it is chronic abuse and sexual assault since childhood until they grew up..and the worst part? By their own father.
The fact that there is even a debate about whether or not they should be released is sickening.
the movie is better because it actually shows the brothers are true evil monsters
Ответитьpeople can say whatever they want to. But the acting in the Monster Netflix tv series was probably the best in 20 years. Especially the father
Ответитьbut the brothers were caught in a lie,? Lyle also got caught when he said the way he is going to manipulate the jury by crying. and he show his true colours.
nah... for once I am against your view Brett
Comedy sketches were made about their testimony trial back then and that was hard to even watch, imagine laughing about their s*xu*l abuse. The documentary on Max explains relevant details about their case.
Ryan Murphy is known for those creepy stuff. Hello, AHS still airs...
Ryan Murphy made the brothers look like horrible people and spoiled brats. He also added several scenes that should not have been in the show like both of the shower scenes.
ОтветитьI do believe that they should have been inprisoned. But its been 35 years, and they did the kurders when they were just 18 years old. They have said themselves that if they could go back they wouldnt kill them. I think they should be released, but the police should keep an eye on them
ОтветитьI HOPE YOU SEE THIS BUT I watched the show because I have always been interested in the brothers story but never went in to full detail. While watching the show I was shocked by the accusation of incest between the brothers this obviously was not true and is appalling that Ryan Murphy even put this thought into peoples heads. The adding of the brothers kiss in the second episode had me shook I do know that some families are close on that level but was it truly necessary to put this in the show. This made the two actors have to unnecessarily kiss. I was so disappointed in the show and the lack of real evidence and such that I am now going back and watching all the trials that some are even 3 hours long so I can get the full understanding and have a solid idea of the brothers and not relying on an untrustworthy show. Obviously Nicholas and Cooper are acting so it's hard to tell how I feel about the brothers but so far I believe them. The trials and emotions are real and are devastating seeing how much they have been hurt especially as CHILDREN. My mother has m*lested by her father too as a chld. Seeing the brothers story just reminds me what if this was my mom. I felt pain after knowing, then having to pretend I didn't know when seeing him and still having to call him "Grandpa" it shook me and made me overall nauseous. It didn't even happen to me but on some level I see the brothers and their feelings, how they feel is obviously bigger ofc because it happened TO them, but they truly do resemble the feelings I have just on a larger scale. The show was not terrible but not great, I was invested but also confused. The actor Nicholas also seems to be a bit on the weird side for sure like kissing the woman who plays his mother "Kitty Menendez" a little weird. I love your videos Brett and hope you see this and maybe respond.
