Half-Life 2: Infinite Finality Gameplay Reveal

Hello, everyone! Thank you all for watching our gameplay reveal and leaving a comment. There are a few things we'd like to say. First, Alyx's voice lines are AI generated and they are just a placeholder until we find a VA for her. Second, we've received a lot of excellently worded constructive criticism about the content of Alyx's lines. We hear you all and we are going to improve it, including doing another dialogue pass of the entire demo script. We want Alyx's lines to be necessary and to make sense. Lastly, the SMG animation is part of a weapon reanimation pack being developed by Texas Steve. The reanimation pack will be released separately from the mod, so it is entirely optional. We want players to be able to make the decision of whether or not they would like an upgrade. Thank you all again for your support. We will be seeing you up ahead ;)

Please just keep AI for Alyx! No matter who you would find, she would not sound like Alyx.

I hope the AI stays as just a placeholder because I'm very much against using AI voices and these sorts of projects outside of stuff like placeholders. Especially because this project looks really good. Just please in the final project make sure to only use actual va's. Other then that this looks good. I do hope actually gets finished.

I love that it actually sounds like Alyx. I know some of the AI sounds a little off but I would much rather hear her voice than some half ass actor like in Black Mesa or Entropy Zero 2. I replaced all those with AI voices that were actually good.

We may finally get a Half Life 2 Episode 3 afterall! 😊 But it's not made by valve sadly. By the way, I have many idea's for what could be in a fanmade Half Life 2 Episode 3, it could have new weapons such as: A handheld tau cannon, a handheld emplacement gun, a S.L.A.M Throwing mine, a molotov cocktail, a new pheropod bugbait, and a vortigaunt beam cannon. And if I was to add new enemies they would be: Elite Combine assasin's, Combine synth super soldiers, combine vortigaunt synths, armoured headcrab's, armoured headcrab zombies, and combine advisors (As bosses.) There are MANY Ideas and things I would create for a fanmade Half Life 2 Epsiode 3 game if I made it! 😊 And these are just my ideas.

You guys could probably just ask the OG Alyx VA to help record lines considering she was replaced and hasn't been contacted from valve in aeons. I mean the TF2 vas are voicing fan content now and valve doesn't give a poo

I actually think the AI voice for Alyx is pretty damn good and sounds just like the actual voice actress

The most interesting thing is that in this modification on Aliex the hat is from the USSR

Imagine how cool Half Life would be if it had a huge map and almost endless exploration.

Due to the harsh weather conditions, would it not make sense for Alyx to speak louder, as the gust of wind logically makes it harder for the characters to hear or say anything out in the larger/more open and windy areas? I know this for now is AI recording but it would be nice if or when in the future a real actor is hired, that would be taken into consideration

I'm sure somebody has mentioned this already, but I don't believe it makes sense for Alyx to sound so bubbly and friendly like she normally does, since a matter of great grief just occured in her life a few days ago. I think she should be more aggressive or less talkative

this actually looks and feels like episode 3 we could've gotten in 2008-2009, not anything insane that any other mods tried to do and died because of it

Looking awesome, just a heads up about ElevenLabs. Sometimes if the AI is being wonky you can use the speech to speech where you can drop audio files of someone saying the line (You will just have to be pretty clear with your speech) it will use what you said and make your Alyx voice say it.

I cant wait this looks and sounds like an absolutely stunning GAME

The greatest thing is that even if (when) Half-Life 3 finally does come out - your take on the Story might still be considered the omitted canon because of the official (and, in my opinion, ingenious) doctor who-ish retcon at the end of the Alyx's story.
(It happened, while it didn't happen, though it could have happened - quite the same way it was with Blood Omen 2, before LoK: Defiance)
The only thing I beg of you (and I reckon, I'm not the only one) - please finish it!
And yeah, don't forget about Alyx's character development throughout classic HL2 "trilogy" - that is important.

As someone who grew up with Half Life, this makes me really happy. I hope the development will keep going. This already looks amazing. I get it that boys from Valve want to use Half Life mainly for showing innovation in the industry, but for me, the breathtaking dystopian world created in Source engine back in 2004 is what I truly want. I loved Half Life Alyx too, but honestly I do not care about new graphics or new technology too much. Source engine has it all for me, so instead expanding the story we all adore so much is much more important!

One question though, might be a little stupid. You did all this with Source SDK? Did you need to also learn C++ for it?

Alyx sounds in-character and this looks promising. Who knows, perhaps some of the Boreal Alyph assets could come in handy for this?

Honestly the best adaptation of the cancelled episode 3 I've ever seen so far. Given it's accuracy and how it fits perfectly with the other episodes as if it's released alongside them officially. Unlike the other remake projects. I wish the best of luck for this team and hopefully it doesn't get cancelled.

One of the best things is that with current AI technologies they can emulate the voices of many characters for dialogues without requiring actors.
