BREN’S FAMOUS SHREDDED CROCKPOT CHICKEN RECIPE EASY CHICKEN RECIPES

INGREDIENTS:
• CHICKEN THIGHS (boneless; skinless)- I always use enough to fill the crockpot and if anything is left I freeze the rest (there’s rarely any left)
• CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP- 2 cans
• LIPTON SOUP MIX (box)- 2 packages (beefy onion or onion mushroom work great)
• SANDWICH BUNS (or bread) of your choice
• CONDIMENT OPTIONS- mayo, ketchup, pickles, mustard, etc. (my family likes them just the way they are as the chicken is incredibly flavorful)
• SEA SALT & PEPPER to taste (add pepper toward end of cooking)

DIRECTIONS
1. Wash chicken thoroughly and place in crockpot. This freezes really well so I always fill the crockpot full and freeze any that is left, though it’s rare to have any left! 
2. Pour both cans of cream of mushroom soup over the top of the chicken.
3. Add both packets of the dry soup mix.
4. Add salt to taste
5. NO NEED TO STIR OR MIX
6. Cover and cook on low for 5-7 hours. Cooking time will vary depending on how much chicken you use. Add pepper toward end of cooking or prior to shredding.
7. SHRED the chicken- I just use a few large forks but use what works for you

MY TIPS & TRICKS
• If you use only white meat chicken you may have to add a bit of liquid (chicken stock or water works great). I prefer dark meat as it is typically less dry and also lends more flavor and gets really tender
• If you use frozen chicken you may end up with too much liquid/broth after cooking. You can remedy this by removing the excess liquid using a measuring cup to scoop it out (BE CAREFUL- it will be HOT)
• While shredding the chicken be sure you rotate as you shred so you get all the larger bits shredded too. Make sure to dig down to the bottom of the crockpot!
