AI Is crazy
ОтветитьWhat Tarantino obviiusly didnt get, is that it is not about a comedian vs lunatic, but that Deniro symbolizes the system supressing the simple man. That makes the audience wanting him dead in that scene cuz they feel throughout the movie something arising in them they couldnt adress before and at that point the whole anger channels itself through joker into rage. It say a lot about the times we live in💥
ОтветитьMeh. No. Joachim was excellent. But The Joker is not great a film. The Taxi driver/king of comedy similarities were so obvious and distracting (as was Ad Astra like QT mentions…the apocalypse now parallel was just so obvious it took me out of the movie). I was not riveted by the talk show scene. DiNiro was totally miscast. I didn’t buy his character at all. You could see DiNiro acting. It was a really weak superficial performance. Like he thought he was in a “comic book movie”. And the director was too weak to challenge him, pull him back from his hammy overacting. And I was trying to understand why joker out of nowhere started acting so effeminate. It was a weird choice that bore no relationship to the character in the rest of the film. And the shooting was totally telegraphed and obvious. Not shocking.
ОтветитьI don't agree with Tarantino. I didn't want Joker to shoot all these people. But I'm really glad he got the opportunity. And took advantage of it. That's not being a mad cruel person. That's being a challenge solver. 🤡
ОтветитьThe Joker sucked. Propaganda ridden. And in the end, the Joker was a cowardly pussy.
ОтветитьTarantino complaining about copying films is peak irony.
Ответитьthanks for spoiling the talk show scene, video editor
ОтветитьDoes nobody realize that the joker isn't an original movie at all?
ОтветитьIt's really not a great movie, it's okay, it's overrated, and that is a good scene. At the same time, I also thought Once upon a time in Hollywood was massively overrated as well.
ОтветитьI didn't like Joker too much when I had seen it (in a packed theater), but Quentin is absolutely right about the talk-show scene. And granted, that was pretty brilliant. I still have to watch Joker a second time as to this point I am still not convinced that it is indeed a good picture.
ОтветитьI wish that Quentin would use this skill to force us into loving in the ways we are unconsciously capable rather than in the ways we are unconsciously capable of hating.
ОтветитьI didn't want him to kill him, but I could feel the movie nudging me that direction.
ОтветитьI'm not sure Quentin knows what he is talking about. I think he may be over rated in analysis of film in general
Ответить"And if you scream long into an abyss, the Quentin screameth also into thee!"
- Friedrich Nietzsche
Joker was one of the stupidest movies ive ever seen.
ОтветитьTarantino = 1 decent movie. The rest; overrated meh.
ОтветитьJoker totally ripped...Travis Bickle
ОтветитьHated this movie. One note movie. Or maybe half note movie. Dark knight trilogy was dark so let’s go way darker and make it retro. The only reason to like that scene was because it was at the end and you could be happy it was over. Such a joke that Phoenix won the oscar over DiCaprio.
ОтветитьWhen I saw this in the Theater. People laughed anytime he had his illness show. Very telling...
ОтветитьHis complete and utter lack of self-awareness is unbelievably ironic!
Ответитьi remember the theater air felt like it had electricity in it.
Ответитьoverrated from start to finish
ОтветитьI can't imagine QT has gotten a hand job. Ever. From anyone but himself. Which seems fitting.
ОтветитьWhat does Ad Astra have in common with Apocalypse Now? Annihilation is tarkovsky’s Stalker works better
Ответить"are all movies now pop cultural artifacts?" mean while, Tarantino's entire film career... 😅
ОтветитьI was so pumped for this movie i went to the theatre alone to see it, I've maybe done that one other time in my 32 years of life, and it was an experience. From the gasps of when he bashes Randalls head in, to the chuckle when he scares Gary and Gary cant reach the lock so Arthur thanks him for being kind and kisses him on the head, at the end people were silent leaving, very cool to experience in a Crowd and on the Big Screen
Ответить"Is this where we are now, where we take great movies from the 70's and redo them..."
But that's what you do, Quentin....
Yes
ОтветитьI wanted the Joker to pull out a magic wand, shout "I am a wizard!" and turn the talk show host into a puppy.
ОтветитьThat was probably one of the best scenes, if not one of the only good scenes in the movie. And you don’t have to be a psycho to have wanted that outcome. He was beyond a bully and was doing it to him to an infinite audience, so the joker leveled the playing field in literally the only way a “small” person like him could do against someone “big” in a position like Robert. There are consequences, and I think the consequences matched the act.
ОтветитьEh, I don't think Tarantino fully understands how much of the audience walked into the theatre with a deep resentment for the politico-entertainment class.
ОтветитьUnion peeling hot tamala example
ОтветитьJoker was lame. The true essence of the Joker is only revealed when in relation to Batman. Remove Batman and you just have another mentally distraught individual, which I don’t need to watch a 2 hour movie for, I can just go to my local grocery store.
ОтветитьQuentin here kissing ass
ОтветитьJoker is an awful movie. It's not deep or profound or at all original. Kids, don't waste your time on this trash and go watch Taxi Driver instead.
ОтветитьI've seen takes from both sides about The Joker about how it's either just derivative slop from the haters or some masterpiece by the fanboys. My take on the film, and I think QT kinda says something similar, is that it's an okayish movie that has one AMAZING scene in it. The haters can only see the parts of the movies that are obviously riffing from other, better films while the fanboys are basing the entire film around that one great scene.
ОтветитьI found it interesting that he excoriated others about ripping off movies from the 70s when that's been his entire career. Not very self-aware.
ОтветитьI think Quentin Tarantino takes drugs and/or alcohol
ОтветитьHow about QT on Weinstein ?
ОтветитьQuentin Tarantino should be happy if he delivered a movie like that, which he hasn't in the last 20 years.
ОтветитьI think his revolver in the train scene fired seven rounds with no reload. But that’s minimal.
ОтветитьSatanic Sin 8: Forgetfulness of Past Orthodoxies.
ОтветитьOr somebody else rabbiting away and quentin giggling away in the background.
Ответитьmaybe its a little more than that
ОтветитьThe screen being bigger means you pay more, not that you get more.
ОтветитьWhy did interviewer had to put Quentin in a well?
ОтветитьYes. It's the same as when the car doesn't sink in the swamp in Psycho, 1960. The audience flips and sides with the killer, it's not new, this subversion, it's just rare that people craft like that these days.
ОтветитьHe's right. Joker makes everyone end up taking the side of the Joker, because we see the world through his eyes.
I loved seeing Joker in the cinema. I don't really want to buy it, but I do want to watch it again.
