Why did you get into Celsius, other than the APY. Why did you trust them?

Mine were in "earn" also. Shocking to read that judge ruled that when we put our money in the earn account, we were essentially giving Celsius that money. 🤬🤬🤬
At least we can write it all off as a capital loss and off set any gains in this next bull run.

Lost 35 BTC on Mintpal in 2014. It was an event very similar to FX but one of the owners of the exchange run away with the coins instead of losing it by bad trades.

When Bitcoin first started being a thing, I had a computer mining and then got bored with it and stopped and just forgot all about it. Then some years later when the mining required a super computer..... Sorry you lost your money hope you are able to get it back.

Hi Tiff.. just discovered your content. I remember when these news were hitting the wires.. unfortunately this happens all the time in other countries, and I’m not taking about crypto, but banks.. it’s that sweet APY that gets us. Members of my family have gotten fleece for that very thing.
I hope you are in a better place now.
One thing that I learned in investing is to look at the left side of the equal sign instead of the right. Questioning where the right is coming from keeps you and me in the green.

Looking back now, I'm curious how such a smart person could not see the 'scam' element to Celsius, do you think it was greed or fomo or something else ? Enjoying your reports on the FTX trial. My son nearly got sucked in on crypto generally, his thinking was that his generation was redefining how the world did things and all the disrupters like Musk in the EV space and non-bank finance like bitcoin were the smart future.

I don't get all the hate comments, you're still a ton smarter than me. Not a lot of people can say they lost 200k and still continue their life 'mostly' unencumbered. Win some, lose some and in between you hope to learn something.

This video is an example when people with money are bored, they gamble or do sport betting. Crypto for me is not much different + with all the frequent influencer scams and "advise" happening. I personally would never do that or spend money on stupid luxury things, beauty crap, getting wasted on alc and drugs or on partying with other boring wealthy people. Instead of doing that i can recommend traveling the world and to remote locations, the wilderness, etc. to make honest life lasting memories and experience instead of chasing superficial status symbols, spending too much time on social media and other uninspiring life experiences.

At least you ain’t blaming everyone but yourself. This is the risk you take with new investments. Hell even real estate is extremely risky and that actually has a tangible asset backing it.

I never invested in crypto because it looks like a ponzi and has no intrinsic value. I feel bad for everyone duped but I'm at least happy I didn't fall for the FOMO for something that is obviously stupid. I'll stick to investing in real companies that actually generate earnings and value.

I might not 100x my money in two years but the tortoise beats the hare in the end and I'll do it with way less risk.
