ОтветитьPLAYS BEST ON PS5 PRO!!!!! MEGA L FOR XBOX FANQUEERS!!!!!
ОтветитьThat thumbnail is amazing.
Ответить5th
ОтветитьI’ll wait for another generation now or go for 9800x3D now.
ОтветитьLack of speed is one thing, but the fact that it's also expensive and unstable, yikes. Ls in all around
ОтветитьI doubt I will buy intel again any time soon, I just had to downgrade to a 12th gen (from a 13th) because my CPU killed itself. When I upgrade properly I'll look at AMD first. Intel just seems to have so many issues now.
ОтветитьEverything Intel ends up in the Lake 👍
ОтветитьThis is why people like Apple and console platforms, so they don’t have to deal with this kind of nonsense.
ОтветитьOkay, 285K is not too fast. Can live with that, not a huge amount of people actually needs fastest CPU out there. It still can mostly catch up with 14700K/14900K, which means it's not SLOW, just not moving forward.
Okay, 285K is not most power efficient. But that was always a moot point, at least for gamers, outside of edge cases like absolute ovens of 13/14 gen or old AMD CPUs where you run into literal cooling problems. Not the case here, so we'll let it slip.
BUT WHAT ON BLOODY EARTH THEY WERE THINKING when they settled on over 600$ cost for that CPU?!?! When you can get better gaming, or better productivity, or in some cases BOTH at once CPUs for less money?! And that on top of new socket so that 600$ is not in vacuum and requires a new mobo to be bought?!
Price is actually by far the worst part of Arrow Lake launch. Everything else can be argued or negotiated. This price is inexusable.
PLAYS BEST ON SUPERIOR PS5 PRO!!!! MEGA L FOR THE QUEERBOX SERIES X FANQUEERS!!!
ОтветитьWhat were they smoking? That's what I want to know.
ОтветитьAmazing video, informative, thank you Digital Foundry. I'm still using a Core i7 4790K and i play games on 4K. I'll wait until Intel releases a cpu like 4790K again. I'll try to stay on Intel as much as i could. If Intel can not produce a good cpu for the next 5 years then i might consider buying an AMD cpu. For now i'm still happy with my Core i7 4790K. In 4K ultra gaming it's still enough for me. I'll upgrade from an GTX 1080 Ti to a RTX 5080 and i'll be all set.
ОтветитьSo, they didn't double check before launch?
Biggest companies, worse products.
i just got my 14900k on sale and lock my power amp to 400A and VID volt to 1.45v and PL1 253w and PL2 253w runs fast :-D
Ответитьyo they need to concert in that poison lake
Ответитьso 2024 ended with a 5% cpu performance upgrade. Thanks AMD
ОтветитьThe Intel upgrade will make the CPU as fast as a Ryzen 9800X3D. ...for 2 minutes.
ОтветитьIf dual 3D dies for 9950X3D gets confirmation and launch at the end of January, and "fix" from Intel slips to February/March timeline... that's when s*** really hits the fan for Intel's CPU division.
Let's hope Battlemage will be better on launch than Arc...
PS. I hope "snake oil" guys from Intel's marketing team got yeeted to userbench - that sounds right up their alley.
Arrow lake A S S series
ОтветитьArrow Lake-S was released way too early.
ОтветитьAnd the heat, the heat. i've got a 12600, i'd know.
ОтветитьI don't care what Intel does at this point. 15th gen failure is the last straw. I won't buy their CPUs for the next decade. AMD has me sold on 3D cache.
ОтветитьWhy would anyone do business with Intel after they knowingly sold defective products and will not recall their processors?
ОтветитьIntels only move really is to significantly drop the price on their Z890 platform, and paving the way for a huge leap in CPU performance for the next gen. Their only play is value per dollar. Doesnt have to be their core ultra 9 (can potentially market that as a productivity cpu), the core ultra 7 should take the huge hit in price. Make it a buget gamers cpu. They can then set themselves up for their customers being on their platform and then buying the 3rd gen core ultra CPU (provided they dont screw that one up).
ОтветитьIntel doesn’t even know the main appeal to their own CPUs… the memory subsystem. They botched the memory latency on the newest CPUs which fked everything.
ОтветитьI have a 9800X3D PC and a 7800X3D PC so I'm heavily invested in AMD and not an Intel fanboy. However, I feel that the Core Ultra issues are very likely software related. Otherwise Arrowlake couldn't be so much faster than the 14900K in productivity tasks, but so terribly slow in gaming workloads. Windows and/or UEFI issues will probably end up being the culprit. We'll see when Intel presents the list of fixes to us next month.
ОтветитьGo check hour thyroid !
ОтветитьSo, basically Intel is saying:
"We cherrypicked games, settings and hardwareconfigurations (already known by all because Intels small-prints told the whole story), saw that arrow lake is still behind our last gen about 5%. But when we saw, that reviewers confirmed our testings, it was not what we expected"?
Well, i think Intel has become a notorious liar. Not even a good one at that. I mean, arrow lake can still become acceptable and they dont even need to change anything but the price. Desktop-market/DIY is not their priority anyway. So loosing some Dollars here but getting the benefit of the doubt, should be more valuable for them. But no. It is not the best, but the most expensive One. Someone must tell Intel, that they cant do, what they did decades ago with their prices, before it is to late to course-correct.
Intel kinda pinned themselves in a box unfortunately with this gen. Going with the rather expensive node from TSMC they're probably stuck at there price they're at for now.. Hopefully after some fixes they could be a more compelling choice to some extent for workstations, or hybrid productivity/gaming setups at high resolutions like 4k where your GPU bottlenecked anyways.
I'm kinda uncertain as whether or not AMD will have their scheduling issues sorted with their dual CCD X3D chips launching at CES..
In all reality we just need Microsoft to stop doing Microsoft things lol. Windows 10/11 updates as of late have pretty much tanked performance for everyone. Over on the overclocking forums in individual tests 21H2 see like the last decent version we had with good performance, and the newer versions have been crap since.. Microshit needs to pull their head out of their arse and have a back to basics approach with making a stable smooth OS.. "Keep it simple stupid."
I'd love to get my hands on LTSC if it didn't require jumping through hoops to get it working on a home system.. 80-90% of the features on Windows anymore I don't even need or use, just a bunch of bloat.
When you test with 6400 UDIMM that renders the speed to 5600. INTEL word was +8000 CUDIMM is the sweet spot and gives +20 uplift. So of course the tests tanked with wrong RAM and then if the RAM was correct the XMP wasn't enabled. This is all for stupid testers and manipulated scores to make AMD look good. APO for example tested with 4090 you just need to laugh. APO is supported with INTEL CPU and INTEL ARC needing INTEL DTT to be enabled. But does the testers check the support? NO! They just give negative result APO not working. Of course it didn't work. Other point is REBAR/PCIe 5.0 direct access/ E Cores that have nothing to do with AMD/Nvidia GPU's that are big part of Arrow Lake architecture. Clearly testing 4090 is not going to give good results when it is clear that Arrow Lake is designed to be paired with INTEL ARC.
Battlemage
Seems like all the creators miss the point that PCIe 5.0 with direct access is required. Maybe if you add these cards to LGA 1700 motherboard or earlier AMD motherboard you are talking up to 63% uplift from Xe to Xe2 and more Wattage. But everyone seems to miss that PCIe 5.0 with direct access gives so much more than REBAR. It is REBAR on steroids that use to give 20-30% uplift and +20% more on INTEL MB. And no one talks about architecture that is different or APO that works on INTEL CPU/INTEL ARC pairing and not with AMD/Nvidia GPU as many creators have tried and given false information as not working. APO still very limited amount titles supported but 10-50% gain. PCIe 5.0 with direct access you can expect a good gain and CUDIMM that no one talks will also give a good gain boosting the CPU pairing. Battlemage and INTEL ARC is suppose to be paired with INTEL CPU for the optimum performance. So if you are looking to build a new system INTEL is no brainer. That's why INTEL is cheaper as you need to buy the whole system. But you should get 5080 performance. 5080 is predicted to be $1200-1500.
I would pair:
B580 with 245K
B750 with 265K
B770 with 285K
1. PCIe 5.0 direct access to CPU with 8 pin power. REBAR on steroids that will give a huge performance gain.
2. CUDIMM lifting the CPU speed closer to GPU allowing higher pairing. Memory speed is vital.
3. ARC from Xe to Xe2 giving 50% gain. Plus better VRAM.
4. Paired top ARC you get APO that is 10-50% gain on supported titles.
5. ARC Xe from 225W to Xe2 250-275W for more performance. That's doubling the performance.
6. Arrow Lake PL2 Extreme 295W
7. No Hyper-Threading Technology making way to very powerful E Cores.
We get 570W all up working for GPU pairing with architecture giving all good frames with no waiting/queuing where 60 FPS at 4k is better than 120 FPS from AMD/Nvidia where more than half the frames are broken or out of time giving stutter. 5080 is 400W card predicted and on paper the all INTEL system looks as good if not better. But with $1000 less coin.
What happened is months and months of layoffs that ****ed everything.
ОтветитьThe reason we are all looking for a solution on gaming performance is due to the fact that Arrow Lake S doesn't perform that badly in other areas like productivity benchmarks. So it makes you wonder why gaming is so bad. I am sure they will find some tweaks for it and bump gaming performance to about 7% above 14900KS. It won't beat the 9800X3D, but at least perform better than its predecessors. The odd thing is that disabling hyperthreading in the past would make games run faster but in Arrow Lake S that comes without Hyperthreading it quite the opposite.
ОтветитьA month ago you guys reported that Intel already admitted that Arrow Lake won't be the fastest gaming CPU, and now they're promising that some microcode patches and BIOS updates will make it the fastest gaming CPU? They already knew it wasn't going to bench good in games, so if they're pretending that it was in their benchmarks now, that's goofing hard.
ОтветитьSteam charts say Intel still rule.
ОтветитьThey also promised in all previous generations, one over other but it fails, power hungry, runs very hot, unstable, expensive and less performant than AMD CPUs.
Ответить
