I like the 5 Watt tube amp from Marshall a the 1 Watt version. , but maybe it could be too loud for my neighbor. I have the positive grid software with an interface for bass. The sound in the app where not natural.

I noticed a lot of the Marshall little amps that come with the speaker sound horrific and tinny.

Other amps to avoid: BB Blaster, Gorila GG, Squier/Fender Frontman or any amp from a starter pack

Great video. Love your playing. Thank you. All the best.

No Monoprice Stage Right guitar/bass tube/solid state amps? That is, outside of the Harley Benton, which is a rebranded Monoprice. Something to consider! A lot of bang for your buck.

As an aside, while I enjoy the look and fun sounds of the Fender RTs, you're paying a premium not only for the brand, but for features you can get for less money (e.g., pedals, boxes, DAW add-ons).

I would also suggest checking out the Blackstar ID Core V3 20W and 40W and the ID: Core 100. The latter even comes with a footswitch and a looper built in. I have the 20W and it is fantastic!

The laney cub head or the 12r can easily compete with any of those.

Little bit shame you didn't include the Fly 3 from Blackstar , i think it's quite good and VERY compact /light / portable

I never liked th code 50.
But, own the code 25 and play it all the time.
Secret, turn off the gate and dial in new presets.
Also, always use the same guitar once the presets are dialed in.

The Harley Benton is the same as the Stage Right 15w (Monoprice). I have the Stage Right and it's stupid good. Wish it had 2 switchable channels and more watts, but I'll take what I can get for tone this godly. The price is too good

If you got the marshall origin 20 combo put a 10" greenback in it. It'll sound MUCH better than that v type jr.

After seeing this video I was a bit confused. Fender or Marshall? seems they have good and bad things going on a plenty. So I went for the marshall MG30FX combo for 200 eur so at least I will make a lot of noise and being able to input some mp3 to play along with adds an extra sweet to the mix.

Nice video. You seemed to like the later amps better, the Harley Benton and the Spark gave you more inspiration and more little moments than the others. And you're right about the Marshall Code, it sounded really bad, didn't even have any comedy value.

Great review.
Do you have a recommendation for a small practice amp like those 0,1-15 watts that could work when playing Lap Steel.
Must have a clear headroom and possibility to take pedals (HX Stomp).

Thank you Elmo for this excellent review Video I just stumbled onto here in December 2023, I enjoyed it immensely so Liked & subscribed as that was a no brainer, I really liked the Joyo & I'm going to have to go check that out further, and also boss katana mini, which I would like to have heard through a Cab like your top pick Harley Benton which would be great but out of my price range & not what I'm looking for, which is small micro sized very portable & compact & battery operated etc, , or at least something along those lines, assuming I can afford such like, as budget is very sad !, anyway I loved your amps too avoid & especially liked & laughed along with you when you demonstrated that Fender !! OMG !!! what an abomination, I mean the two Marshals were rather sad & especially the last one, but seriously Fender !!! what were you smoking when you signed off on that thing ??? LOL! , cheers n thx Paul from Australia.

I read halfway through the comments searching and found that the consensus of the Fender Champion 50XL owners is that yours WAS broken. Not one person with experience with that amp made a comment agreeing with you about it.
People with experience with other amps agreed with you for the most part, yet the Champ 50XL owners are calling you out.
It's time to get another Champion 50XL and confirm or retract your review/rating.

How are you supposed to demo an amp's distortion with a single coil pick up--especially for metal?

Ответить
@guloguloguy
@guloguloguy - 07.12.2023 02:09

IMHO: THANKS FOR THESE DEMOS!!! I THINK THAT YOU OUGHT TO AVOID USING DISTORTION/FUZZ/O.D., AND FOCUS ON PLAYING CLEAN, CLEAR MUSIC, AND FOCUS ON GETTING GREAT TONE. HIGH SPEED PLAYING DOESN'T NECESSARILY DEMONSTRATE THE BEST TONES THAT ANY AMPLIFIER IS CAPABLE OF PUTTING OUT..PLEASE, SLOW DOWN, AND PLAY BETTER , MORE MUSICAL "TUNES". ["HEAVY METAL" IS NOT GOOD MUSIC!!!]

The thing with the Marshall Code, was the cab SIM was garbage. I played the code 100 for a few years and once you get rid of the cab SIM and use it like a Marshall, it's actually ok for the money.

I've got the micro dark terror- holy moly is this thing loud even if it looks crazy small on my 412 marshall. My origin 20h is one of my favorites..my next move is gonna have to be the egnater tweaker 15 but also the harley benton 15w bundle looks sweet- looks like it has a 12inch speaker but for like $300, that's crazy.

I run a bandit in my stereo rig. I run a leg off a stereo chorus that’s in my Marshall effects loop so I essentially use my Marshall a
Preamp to drive it.
