Would a unit like this work on 120V? Obviously the heating element will run at a quarter of the power, but I presume that just means it'll take longer to distill. I ask because I live in America and I can't seem to find a 120V unit online.
ОтветитьMost important question ............ CAN WE MAKE ALCOHOL WITH THIS ???
ОтветитьI bought the temperature controlled version and it was shite.
ОтветитьLet’s not kid ourselves, these are purely for home distilling 😅
ОтветитьYou could also properly insulate the distilling chamber
ОтветитьThat C€ sign is a mockery of standards
Ответитьwouldn't the fan work with the dimmer? kinda like pwm control?
ОтветитьThe first thing I thought was for topping off batteries. People also use distilled water for baby formula. Somehow there was a distilled water shortage in parts of the US. Some local liquor distilleries chipped in and made water for a bit. Didn't effect me because I have one of these.
ОтветитьI exatly own this device, not in shiny but in white. The area where the heating coil is connected to the bottom of the pot, is not water tight. I am using it now for 4 months, good water by the way, and its leaking inside the housing, out of the area where the coil is connected to the pot. I first noticed it, when move the pot to clean and refill that water spills out the bottom holes..then i shaked the thing, and i hear the water inside. It can not come from the outside of the mashine. Did anybody else have this problem with this distiller? Disgusting what load of dirt is in the 4liter amount of tap-water you will see, after destilling it. Disgusting, i think i never drink that shitwater from tap again.
ОтветитьI assume that impurities such as chlorine and chloramine will be carried into the distillate.
ОтветитьI have bin using it for 10 years for moon shining with small changes you can get top quality moon shine at 90% yah its not fast but simple cheap and easy to use😁
ОтветитьWould you mind mentioning the approx. price?
I saw in the Description you mentioned a "wild price range"
Is there any branding on the unit you have?
ОтветитьDamn, i can go full moonshiner with this??
ОтветитьI have one of these for making vodka. I have the fan plugged into the wall so it's running constantly and the element on a 15 minute on/off cycle.
ОтветитьWow!! there really is a BigClive on the other side of those hands. Love your work.
ОтветитьThat opening with the reflection of Clive, was like when Dave Lister was talking to Talkie the Toaster in Red Dwarf. Awesome.
ОтветитьDrinking destilled water and alcohol with high methanol percentage does not sound quite clever.
ОтветитьThe best thing about this video was seeing you from an alternate perspective!
ОтветитьCheers for that. Of course if distilling temperature was critical you could always put a temperature sensor in and use a motor control type circuit to chop the phase as you aim for you target temperature. I suspect a budding tinkerer has already done that...
ОтветитьI like shiny items on your stream. Enables full beard view for user pleasure.
ОтветитьOh man, told ya I'm getting old.
I swear I heard, "This is a dehumidifier",.. just fill it with water...
AND THEN I GOT MY GLASSES 🤓 ... it's early, where's my Percolator
Now ya know what, I Couldn't SEE What You Said Means 😉
I bet you your video just made a lot of sales of these equipment nothing to make it’s already set up
ОтветитьI once worked at an organisation that used a lot of lead acid batteries for remote chart recorders etc. and we had a magnificent still made with copper tubing to supply distilled water. Apparently they had replaced it a while before and some years after that "The Revenue" came snooping around to see that they old setup hadn't been put to other uses ! Life is easier with these devices so commonly available.
ОтветитьDuring the Covid thing and the year after I found it difficult to locate steady supplies of distilled water. I'm an older guy and I use a BiPAP machine during sleep that requires distilled water for humidifying the air. The solution to maintaining a supply of distilled water was to purchase a countertop distiller very similar to the one Clive has shown. Thanks to him, I now know how to replace the activated charcoal filter. No, I'm not too old to learn but you might have to talk a little slower. :)
ОтветитьThank you, Clive! I have wanted a look at the fintube coil in an airstill for years.
ОтветитьOk
ОтветитьThe innuendo in this is almost unbearable! :-)
ОтветитьI'm guessing that without the fan you need a whole heap of extra windings to cool the steam off again ?
ОтветитьDo you think I could plug the fan into its own power and then run the heater on a power controller to reduce the heat ?
ОтветитьCracking Beard in the reflection! Respect Big Clive!
Ответитьhow to turn cheap vodka into 90%
ОтветитьThink the hole in the tube on some units is an anti syphon function
ОтветитьThis might sound dumb. But, it's one button. you can't set it to a temperature. Does it not operate at 212f? It wouldn't.. work. On water if it operated at 174f.. haha
ОтветитьI got some hypothetical questions..
Hypothetically the power going out to the fan could also power another heating element?
Hypothetically everything could be taken off that heating element and swapped to a different element as long as the resistance is same or higher? (Lower resistance would need more watts?)
Hypothetically the temp switches could be attached to any other container holding the "water" in the same relitive placement and they would still do the same job?
I'm hypothetically looking to see if my "water distiller" could be upgraded to one of the 8gal Chinese stills minus the thump keg ect cause 2 hrs for a gallon of water is to much to little, maybe parallel the 2 powers to a electric stove burner, stick on the bottom of that stainless bucket and mount temp sensors in same relitive spots?
Cheers brother. Hope I didn't annoy with all the drunk questions. My brain won't stop though, it's like all the vape info again with ohms law and making coils ect. Lol
I got one of these for the.... Other uses. Works beautifully. Works best if you throw it out on your deck on a cool night. Less losses with cooler temperatures out there!
ОтветитьLove this video! Please break down the air still pro - it has a built in reflux condenser and it's just been released.. I'm sure a lot of people will be keen to see how it's made and how it works
ОтветитьWe've hadc the builders in and a thick layer of dust has accumulated in the top fan.
From this video,I know you can clean it out now 😂
Thank you.
Saves me potentially buying a new one.
Thanks for making this video :)
Just bought the same one.
I wonder why the temperature - even when the controller is set at the max 150°C - doens't go higher then 99°C (jus water, even after 3 hours).
Is that a limitation of physics ?I should have paid more attention in physics class :)
Wait.. If you could use a dimmer switch to bring the wasps down why would anyone buy a MH or SS pot? 🤔 Might give this a go - sounds like good value for money on a cheap chinese unit.
ОтветитьI have one and it does not remove hydrogen sulphide, sulphates etc. Has anyone shoved in some fine copper mesh into output tube and/or the 'teabag' holder?
ОтветитьVevor has one with a temp and timer controller.
ОтветитьThey also sell a version made for water, alcohol or oil distillation. The main difference is you can set a temperature and run time electronically on the unit. So no mod needed!
ОтветитьIs the second thermal cutout just used for temperature control?
ОтветитьGreat video thank you
ОтветитьAlso for ovens with a water reservoir for steaming, sous vide and baking.
ОтветитьMy brand new one expells a strong wine smell out the top butt I cant see any pin hole (could be poor seals). Also what is the fan volts & wattage, someone said you can plug em in a laptop charger
Ответить
