It's not my jam, but I'm rooting for the old school peeps I know who really want it. It sounds like a real mess over there.
ОтветитьCrowfall had more potential than this title. Everyone wanted this game to be the game of games, it's a shame.
Ответитьlololol
ОтветитьThey missed the boat. Monsters and Memories saw what people ACTUALLY wanted and grabbed it. There’s no market for this game anymore.
ОтветитьJust feels like nobody wanted the game to suceed. Its an odd thing about mmo gaming. I bet everyone is right about the game..I still want it to exist. Eh, life isnt fair and will continue otherwise. All lower budget mmos should just stop.
ОтветитьI try the Recent Summoner in Pantheon and I can say Early Access is going to be great if they can be ok with their Niche if not then well it's back to another 10 years waiting as they change it again. I may see how early access is but I pretty much gave up. Pantheon Developers: We want this game in your hands. For how long because a thousand players is not great if they don't stay.
ОтветитьTalks shit about pantheon, then says he was playing everquest2 the other day. You obviously have shit taste in games. Shut up and go play the game. Its not bad at all. Release or not ive had fun playing it.
ОтветитьOne issue they need to address are the pledges. Long long ago I paid something like $250 for a champions pledge. Go ahead and make fun of me but to be fair this was in the Kickstarter hay day. Included with my pledge were "2 copies of the game" and that is important to me because my brother and I were and still are planning to play together.
I like the game but I paid $250 for it and I want my 2 copies. The issue is they don't understand they won't make hardly any money when early access launches if they give us all our "free" copies we paid for 8-10 years ago. There will be so many friend keys floating around no one will have to buy the game.
I have been playing it and genuinely enjoy it. It took too long though. I don't see a way for them to make any money at this point and that is what will kill it. Lots of players will play it and enjoy it. But if they can't get income because anyone the community invites just gives them a friend key what will they do?
All these years and delays just to hear 'we're fk'd but here comes early access'. I couldn't be less interested.
ОтветитьI've been diggin the game a lot throughout the testing seasons. Looking forward to December.
ОтветитьBummer... Been following the development off and on for years now as someone who played EQ when it first launched. Guess I'll just have to stick to private EQ servers for now.
ОтветитьCamelot Unchained…Pantheon…the core of it all is who is in charge. It’s a damn shame but not surprising.
ОтветитьI been commenting about this for years .
ОтветитьWorst $2k I've spent. Learned my lesson. Sad. Very sad.
ОтветитьI've played a bit during this most recent season and can say that although I had fun my overall forecast for the game isn't great. I fully understood that the game was still basically in Alpha but after so many years I expected there to be more finished. When they announced early access starting in December I was honestly shocked. I just cannot fathom 4 to 5 months being nearly enough time to get the game into a state that I feel properly qualifies as "early access" unless there's a lot that they have done and just haven't given us yet.
Ответитьhaven't heard anything in a while about the game so googled it and this came up so i was like " yup, I knew it ". Just to bad again another one fails, i wonder if those that paid crowdfunding get their money back ?
Ответить@Renfail They just came out with a new Q&A hours ago! Can you please please please cover it??? Hahaha
ОтветитьYeah pre-alpha to early access, they'll have it out I'm sure, it'll be an ugly, shitty pile of garbage
ОтветитьIt speaks grim volumes that they twiddled their thumbs with failed builds and fake progress for a whole decade only to suddenly scramble and pull a vaguely playable game together in the past 8 months after the money dried up. That should be alarming enough to anyone thinking of playing this game, even if it limps its way launch and that's a BIG if, would you really trust Visionary Realms to keep the game afloat and not run it into the ground post-launch? Or whatever publisher they tried to hawk it off to, inheriting their mess?
Even a miracle can't save this game.
P.S. WoW sucks and you're a clown.
But...but Brad said this is going to rock!
ОтветитьThe game was seemingly in a much better state 5-6 years ago. Many questionable decisions have been made since then. I have been enjoying playing the seasons but the game is very unfinished.
ОтветитьEverything involved with this game is destined to fail. If it really does come out it will be shut down before its out for a year with the extremely niche player base they are trying to cater to. Along with the absurdly long development time and how horribly dated it already looks no one is going to buy it.
ОтветитьEarly Access seems like VR's attempt to reach a Steam audience unfamiliar with Pantheon's original goals. To succeed, they'd need significant progress with core mechanics and enough content to keep both existing fans and new players engaged. The janky combat animations remain a major issue, and the art direction change, while possibly needed, feels too late and raises concerns about wasted development time. If they can completely change the art style, it implies minimal progress was made in the first place. This drastic pivot is concerning, especially after a decade of development. I won't delve further into the mess, but it's disheartening. Your "friends" who abandoned you over differing Pantheon opinions were likely caught up in the hype, unable to handle any negativity or criticism. Cognitive dissonance hurts. I hope they are able to pull something off, But I can't help but look at the project with anything but pessimism. Because that is what VR has demonstrated over the entire development of the project. They made the bed, but they keep acting like someone else messed it up. "Everything Is fine" meme comes to mind
ОтветитьThis game died with Brad. 12 years of development and this tech demo is all they've got to show for? lol
ОтветитьThese people should be charged. They are crooks!
ОтветитьDecember 2034 theyll still be saying just alittle more time 😂
ОтветитьTo anyone that was hardcore for EQ back in the day, this game is everything they wanted in an mmo with updated and improved features. All these naysayers are just hating on the game and its a shame alot of those people have not even played it. The acclimation system is very unique and in all my years of playing mmos i have not seen anything like it. For anyone who is tired with todays mmos are that pussified and way to easy and literally have almost nothing in the way of exploration, this game should strike a chord with you. If people who have already invested support the game then it will succeed. The problem is not VR, its the haters and naysayers and the people who want everything handed to them and the people who cant think for themselves and need mindless quests that give you a waypoint to every thing you do. Thats the problem with society, they want everything easy and soon as the going gets tough they quit and whine like a bunch of babies. Ive played the game and almost every class and all of the classes ive played have had a refreshed look on the class in a revitalized space with a new take on old school mmos. Try it before you knock it, because if your knocking it and haven't tried it your just as ignorant as everyone else. How can you speak on something youve never tried or tasted? Yall talk so much shit without knowing anything that its embarrassing.
ОтветитьIgnore this jealous dunce. he tried to launch a spaghetti game with unity assets and failed and now is branding himself as a hater. must really burn him to watch Pantheon succeed despite these doomsayers
ОтветитьHow tf you gonna be in development for decades and have a handful of zones
ОтветитьI know where the money went. It went to pay their salaries. There is no incentive to release a game if you can pay yourself to work on it indefinitely, and then beg for more money when you run out. When the community got angry enough to threaten lawsuits, then the game was magically ready for release. They spent a decade dreaming up new game systems that nobody asked for or wanted, iterating on them, then trashing them to iterate some more. Basically, all the work that should be done before the kickstarter was even launched. Honestly, they could have done EA at any point in the last 6 years, if that is what they were going to do. EA is just a cash grab and an attempt to avoid getting sued. Then they changed all the art in the game in a period of 7 days and it looks like a low-budget generic mobile fantasy game that is free to play.
ОтветитьLook for $50 I might try it out . I like retro mmos and games that are challenging. The new graphics have been improved- did you get a chance to play any Necromancer class this month Renfail ?
ОтветитьA lot of valid points you bring up. On the positive side though, changing the art style has seemingly boosted their workflow, so thats good.
I treat the game like star citizen. If it comes out in full, ill play it in full.
I'm enjoying the current state of Pantheon. I never want games to fail. Just take things as they come.
In the meantime there's so many other games to play while we wait
You keep vilifying Pantheon, keep telling us we're being scammed, and yet they keep dropping new content. OK, we get it, you hate Pantheon, but don't you get tired of being wrong?
ОтветитьLook at this peedo file doomer boomer
ОтветитьI think the art style move was a terrible decision. I know so many people that dropped it soon as they moved. I believe people are just at a point where they don't trust in the project after that. It's a huge thing to many people, as many of my friends have said they feel it's no a different game, and I have to agree with them. Changing the art so drastically crushed pretty much everyone that I know personally, that invested in the game.
Man this really burns me as someone that has been working on contracts on multiple MMO projects over the last few years that have accomplished more than these Kickstarter projects with less than 2% of what many of them have scored. People are slowly moving away from Kickstarter projects though, which is good I reckon.
