That's not how haste worked in tbc though, it only shortened the channel time, it didn't give you any extra tics. Same with dots

Hey Arlaeus, Can you test out the Black MoreAss to see if it valuable to aoe farm the beasts as there seems to be some giudes pointing that is a valid strategy for gold farming maybe it's good xp as well?

With aoe cap, will the slow from blizzard effect all mobs? or is it just the dmg that is capped?

Do you have the mana to take them down with AoE cap? Thinking it would take alot longer of you have to stop casting and regen abit

Fixed an issue where area-of-effect damage caps were not functioning properly.

Copying this comment I responded to someone else with. This will answer whether or not it's possible with the AOE cap among other things -

Tested and confirmed it's still possible. Took 15 minutes and 10 seconds. I recorded the video and streamed it through my discord at the time, but am not going to post it or make another video about the farm until at least beta is over if then.

My goal of this video was to show the farm for anyone who wanted to try it, and bring it to light so that if blizzard wanted to change something they could. That's the point of the beta so that when it hits live, it's the game they intend it to be. This was the reason for the calculations showing that it would be possible with the cap. At this point I've shown the video so if people want to have fun messing with it they can, and if Blizzard would like to change it, it's not after everything has gone live to where it would cause a big impact.

I love this game and I've been playing it since I was a young teenager. I also love pushing the possibilities though in everything I do, and so that's why I've had a lot of fun either coming up with stuff like this, or testing stuff like this and optimizing it. All credit for this run though goes to FREP. I understand why some people don't like this or farms like this, and respect their opinion.

To be completely honest, from a TBC solely perspective, not including any kind of "nochanges" or anything like that, I would be happy if they made this impossible to do during release. I think everyone should go through hellfire and dungeon/quest. If I don't go for the world first 70, even with this strat being available, that's exactly what I'll do.

Someone told me yesterday that blizzard will only slow down a max of 10 mobs at a time in TBC. Is this correct?

Isn't there also an exp cap from aoe? I remember back in the day when a ton of mobs died at the same time, the exp was majorly gimped opposed to killing them all 1 by 1

good for soloing/duoing to 66, and little else. cant boost others on lvl 62mobs efficiently

When doing SP, did you get coilfang armament drops?

this type of content will damage this expansion , hopefully blizzard will reduce the damage in aoe so mages can't screw up the tbc experence this time

SInce this farm seems to not get nerfed at all, how much money do you make there? I have 2 mages and one is probably going this way to 70 (or very close!) And wondering how much gold I can make there.

This was just patched yesterday 5/7. There are now invisible walls on the ledge making for a tough time.

These types of videos are the ones Blizz watching..so they can see what to nerf.

can you do this with a 58 template "dark portal pass" $40 mage?
if you need certain gear from level 60 vanilla end game for mana regen, damage...
then it doesn't really serve the general public, as those items will not be available for those who skipped vanilla.

Everyone doing these Slave Pens pulls has all epics you can think about from naxx/zg. What about boosted 58 mages? Thats a no then?

Thank you all for watching! I wanted to release this video to show the pull and make it more well known so that blizzard has the opportunity to change it if they see fit. The point of finding these in the beta is partially for fun, but mainly for figuring out things like this so that blizzard can decide if they’d like to patch it prior to TBC release.

I understand if you think it would be better to “not show it,” but in my opinion its better to show it now because 1) it’s already being done by most mages on stream and 2) even if ferp didn’t figure it out, someone else would have. With this in mind, at least we have it known this early into beta so that it’s up to blizzard to decide what they’d like to do with it.
