Thursday, 6 January 2022, the African Union of Broadcasting launched the opening of its Headquaters and the AFCON 2021 AUB FAN ZONE, in Yaoundé, in the presence of important personalities and the general public.
During the solemn ceremony, the AUB CEO, Mr Grégoire Ndjaka recalled the importance of sports as a tool of peacebuilding and a symbol of cohesion in the society.
He stressed the need for broadcasters to promote sports in general and football in particular. Mr Ndjaka underlined the importance of football as a discipline for the mass, not only the elite.
The AUB Fan Zone is based in Messamendongo, a suburb of Cameroon's capital, Yaoundé. It is access free and remains open from the 9 January to 06 February, 2022.
The Headquaters comprises of an AFCON Monitoring Unit and the Spotlight Magazine Production Center.
