I’ve had a 1.2 hatchback octavia for 9 years now it certainly does not feel underpowered in any way because I’ve own 3 Ford mondeos with a non turbo 1.8 engine before that and I cannot notice any difference. The hatchback has a massive boot and the car feels the same size as my old mondeos
ОтветитьThe bigger the car, the small the engines with a massive turbo.its madness, you get a big car, you fit, a big engine to do it justice, not a small engine, screening at 70 miles an hour, on a motorway.
ОтветитьThe car is good, it's the engines that are grap.
ОтветитьBest car review I've seen! Love the fact that they drove it for 6months before reviewing! Like others, I disagree about the looks. I think it's one of the best looking estates around. The others all look the same these days. The Octavia is my favourite after Volvos.
ОтветитьIdk why ....... but i feel like America is showing off how good their nuclear warhead defense will be......just a feeling
ОтветитьTry getting a dog, buggy, two adults, a child and all your holiday gear in a crossover 😊
Ответить6 month and 6.000 miles is not a long-term test.. lol
ОтветитьThat car is pretty af. This base model halogen headlight sucks. But the projector lamps are pretty af.and the facelift is just one of the prettiest cars ever. Not to forget, designed by the same guy these cars who designed the Veyron
ОтветитьI bought a 15 year old 2007 Mk2 estate 2.0 tdi Elegance, 6 speed manual, 160K on the clock. Its a great car, really nice to drive, and I keep the fuel consumption in check by not having a lead foot (except for fun or necessity). I think the body looks nice, but I dont really care that much anyway. Who cares if it is boring. The stereo is adequate and the bells and whistles are a novel change. I like to buy good, used, cheap, low mileage cars that have been looked after, and I save a squillion in cash. Never had a problem yet.
ОтветитьGreat review. Thanks.
ОтветитьAwful review. engine advice is ill informed
ОтветитьGreat video so much detail about space so important with dogs grandchildren buggies shopping not to mention camping holidays!
ОтветитьI really Love It, and even outside, of course it'snt the most fun to drive, but it's a great value for money, cheap to buy and run, very spaceous, even got tons of compartments inside the cabin.
ОтветитьVery good review - although I like the sober looks. The previous version - now that looked very dreary
ОтветитьAnyone know where his jacket is from?
ОтветитьI came one Saturday to the same Skoda shop as on the video and no one even came to me ... went to different shop and bought Rav4 2018 Hybrid . Bad experience which will be in memory for long time.
ОтветитьThe 1.6 TDI is gutless. The 2.0 150 bhp is a really nice compromise.
ОтветитьEstate cars are way more versatile than SUVs, but people being people will follow the fashion / herd! If you are going to have a diesel variant ignore this reviewer's advice and go for the much better 2.0 TDI 150 BHP not only will it not consume any more fuel than the 1.6 but it's way more powerful and it's much more reliable too.
ОтветитьReally comparing a Skoda to a Mercedes? So dumb
ОтветитьHe thinks that this Octavia looks dull. Well it's a good thing then that he has the option to buy a Toyota Auris or a Honda Civic then. How about I like this look? Shocking isn't it? I know. People have different tastes.
ОтветитьGreat car
ОтветитьWomen rate cupholders more than the engine.
ОтветитьWhy would I buy an estate when none of these "reviews" bother to give measurements of the boot..... As in how long is it and wide.. 98% of these "reviews" faf around without giving the information which someone would want to know if choosing an estate.. I searched hard and long... And found the length in CM.. hence it's pointless listening to any of these "reviews." I really thought, - as I've found with other Auto Trader "reviews." They would be more practical with giving information.. 2.32 minutes in. Once he'd only showed putting silly little items onto what I presume was the boot floor... Then he went back to the driver's seat.. I turned the video off.. The majority of UK car - vehicle reviews are rubbish.. Now in 2020.. Nothing has changed...
ОтветитьI still don't understand why some families opt for SUVs which are definitely smaller inside than this estate.
Ответитьare you serious Space saver over full size spare
ОтветитьSkodas really are a superb car. Especialy the 1.4 model
ОтветитьAny review in the pipeline of the Yeti at all?
ОтветитьI like the mk7 golf estate but I personally think this is a good looking car and would definitely put it on my list.
ОтветитьSkodar Octaviar
Ответить"Skoda Rocktavia" 😂
ОтветитьWhat about reliability?
ОтветитьHave a good look at the big VW personnel car park in Wolfsburg/Germany, and observe the large numbers of SKODA vehicles used by its VW personnel!
Does that tell us something????
Take your time and have a think!
Nice honest review whilst ignoring your own prejudice. No brainer of a car.
ОтветитьI prefer 2012 1.9 tdi
ОтветитьI own one of those. The VW bits in it (engine, gerbox) are really great. But to compensate and make it a "budget" car, Skoda have given it a rubbish suspension, a numb and slow steering, and no sound insulation at all. And as a result, it is really an uncomfortable car. A am currently replacing it with something else...
ОтветитьWhat are the advantages of estates over SUVs and crossovers?
ОтветитьDisagree totally with the comments on the exterior styling, plus being hailed as a taxi because it was white, really - You must be very unlucky. And regarding the ‘life stage’ comments; what utter bollocks! Perhaps only review cars that befit your self-importance and ‘life stage’ in future and leave the car reviews that fall out of this very specific remit to more professional journalists. And, maybe watch Matt Watson if you’d like pointers on more progressive car journalism..
ОтветитьStarted of well , then you started to talk aload of rubbish !! It is a brilliant car !!
ОтветитьHow are Skodas more reliable than VW when they share the same engines and parts ?
ОтветитьI don't care what the car looks like from the outside. Driving a subaru legacy proved this to me. I want comfort and I want the neighbours to see a dull car.
ОтветитьGreat review of an awesome car.
ОтветитьI stopped watching when you complained about the Skoda badge. That's their symbol. If you don't like it, buy what you do. That shows you are a snob. Get yourself some Arian car.
ОтветитьGood review, I like reviews where they have been using the vehicle as their daily car.
ОтветитьHad my VRS Diesel for approaching 5 years and 50,000 miles now, probably had more issues than any other car. Within the 3 years warranty the usual sensor issues and faulty headlights plus a sticking drivers door. Out of warranty the water pump and infotainment systems failed, cost to repair over £2,000!!! Dashboard loose around the light switch and the switch has now decided to retreat back into the depths of the dash, which is poor as I think I have only used it about 10 times as its left on auto. One final annoying issue is tyre wear, the fronts scrub on the inside which isn't unusual for a big diesel, but the rears scrubbing on the inside and making vibrating noises as they wear oddly is really annoying and gets tiresome on the motorway.
ОтветитьVery average review. Bit patronising of Skoda owners, no mentioning of handling or the higher bhp diesel, gearbox options or fuel economy.
ОтветитьEstate all say long.
ОтветитьSkoda Superb estate 660 L ... thank you ;)
