As a European I gotta say that your leather helmets are just HOT as fuck, but either way it's literally a 200 years old design (Tho hot as fuck) it is falling far behind in modern terms. The Euro helmets are indeed safer, more universal and overall better, so I think it¨s bout time you guys put safety before tradition. (Man even Germans are retiring the stahlhelm style fire helmets and that design is 100 years younger than what you guys are using lol)

I am a Junior and my wonderful parents bought me my first leather ever and I love it I am very glad they did this for me can’t wait to get a job and help them pay things so I can pay them back for this

Being a volunteer firefighter myself, I think those new helmets are an excellent choice for the US fire departments. Tradition may be tradition, but safety always comes first before everything

Since when does anyone care what the NFPA has to say? You wont catch any self-respecting, cigar-smoking FDNY member wearing one of these euro helmets! Even the LAFD has gone back to the traditional helmet, instead of those soup bowls they worse for decades.
