What about evaporator line going evaporator is frozen but rest of evaporator is not cold.

Why not just change the relay? So you don't need to mess with the wiring.

My fridge failed slowly. The compressor started rattling loudly when it shut off. It did this for a few years. Then the freezer would not be down to proper temp. This got worse over a few months until the freezer wouldn't freeze any more. What's up?

The compressor winding ohms aren't fluctuating your meter leads are.

a universal starter kit is a super sloppy way to get a fridge running again... that's amateur work...

Great info besides the part you used to fix it. A hard start device will kill the compressor eventually and definitely shorten the life of it.

You used a shit part for the repair! 3 in 1s are for cheap hacks who dont know HOW to "fix" the problem. Those are bandaids at best, not for permanant fix!

if you make a jig with a starting element (relay) and thermic protector you wouldnt have to cut nothing in order to troubleshoot the problem. just replace one or both of these components and you would be in business . forget testing the pins on the compressor its useless at this stage...it either will work or not changing these above mentioned elements. too slow , jack

Hello. I have a upright freezer. I did all you suggedt measures the 3 prungs and add thr 2 numbers and it total the 3rd prung.

All connect the 3 n 1 and the Compressor running super hot and does not go into freeze temperature.


I order and replace the start device.. Nothing compressor just click on and off...

Would a leak in the system cause tge compressor to click on and off? Low refrigerate??

So this Supco URCO410 comes with female flag spade terminals I see. What would someone do who has the Electrolux Relay Overload (like me) and compressor that has three circular pins that are 0.090 in. in diameter? You can't use the spade terminals on that.

Why wouldn't you just replace the relay? Why do you need a hard start?

Bad job. You need check compressor for ground on megaoms. This relay kills compressor. Use original relay.

What do you mean by unit? I’m not sure where the condenser fan power wires go to off of the original start relay. I wish someone would show detailed pics or show where each wire comes from and not just say a name. 😅 thanks

This video is probably too old for anyone to see in order to help me, but I'm going to take the chance anyway...

I think I might have a circulation issue with my fridge. The freezer is great, but the fridge won't cool. When I put my hand over the damper, there is barely the faintest amount of air coming through to my hand, but as soon as I open the freezer door, I feel much more air coming through to my hand. I think the return air vent that allows air to pass from the fridge back to the freezer is blocked.

I tried pouring hot water into it, but it pooled up and then froze, so I put a blow dryer on it for an hour! A great deal of the ice melted, but I didn't see the water pooling into the drain pan under the fridge, and my fridge is still warm. Maybe I just need to hit it longer with the blow dryer?? There may be ice deeper into the vent. Any thoughts?

Is possible that compressor be still vibrating and it has starting component problem? My fridge has compressor vibrating it's on for sure but it seems quieter than normal but condenser coils are almost at room temp.

QUESTION - The Frigidaire mini fridge (with warmer optional) stopped cooling altogether in about 10-14 days while the Coca Cola mini fridge (without the warmer extra) has been cooling satisfactorily for months now. Do these mini fridges with warmers in any way interfere with the cooling efficiency of the mini fridges whose main purpose is cooling?

99 percent sure that was the run or start capacitor in the ptc relay . Not overload. Check capacotor mf before doing any of this. Then check ohms of ptc. Normally a good one will read 5.
